Billing Representative Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a billing representative in Delaware?
Most Delaware employers require at minimum a high school diploma, though an associate degree in healthcare administration, business, or accounting strengthens your application significantly. Delaware does not issue a state-specific license for billing representatives, so the most recognized credential is the Certified Professional Biller designation offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders. Healthcare systems like ChristianaCare and financial services firms in Wilmington look for that certification alongside hands-on billing or accounts receivable experience.
Which companies hire billing representatives in Delaware?
Employers hiring billing representatives in Delaware right now include Allgyn, JPMorganChase, and Beebe Healthcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's dense concentration of healthcare networks and financial services headquarters in the Wilmington corridor drives consistent year-round openings across both industries.
Which Delaware cities have the most billing representative jobs?
Wilmington, Bear, and Newark are the Delaware cities with the most billing representative openings. Wilmington anchors the market as the state's largest city and headquarters hub for major health systems and financial services companies, while Newark's proximity to ChristianaCare's flagship campus and Dover's role as the state capital and administrative center for insurance and government health programs sustain steady hiring in those areas as well.
Are there remote billing representative jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 20% of billing representative openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally the work translates to a home office setup. Claims processing, insurance follow-up, and accounts receivable reconciliation are the sub-functions most frequently offered as fully remote positions by Delaware employers.
How can I get hired as a billing representative in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a billing specialist trainee or patient access representative role at one of Delaware's large healthcare systems, which regularly onboard candidates without direct billing experience. ChristianaCare and Nemours Children's Health both run structured onboarding programs for new administrative staff. Lateral moves from customer service, medical receptionist, or data entry positions are common entry points. Completing a short medical billing and coding certificate through Delaware Technical Community College gives candidates a concrete credential that stands out at the application stage.
Where can I find and apply to billing representative jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to billing representative jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to each one that fits.
