INTRODUCTION
Leading and supporting the implementation of medical device cybersecurity strategies!
Sodexo is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 with an interest in cybersecurity to support and grow within our healthcare cybersecurity program. This role will work closely with clinical engineering, hospital IT, and Information Security teams to help support the security and reliability of medical devices and connected systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong biomedical equipment background, a willingness to learn the cybersecurity side of healthcare technology, and an interest in expanding their technical skills in this growing area.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Do:
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of biomedical equipment while ensuring equipment reliability and safety.
- Assist with documenting medical device inventory, network connectivity details, and manufacturer information within the CMMS to support cybersecurity initiatives.
- Work alongside HTM, hospital IT, and Information Security teams to help maintain secure and compliant medical device environments.
- Support basic cybersecurity and device security activities, including software updates, patch coordination, and manufacturer-recommended security practices for connected medical equipment.
- Help identify and escalate potential device vulnerabilities, unusual system behavior, or cybersecurity concerns impacting medical equipment.
- Participate in medical device risk assessments and support efforts to improve device security and network visibility.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What You Bring:
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- The ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical devices.
- Excellent communication, customer service and time management skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Experience collaborating with clinical engineering, IT, and InfoSec teams.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Requirement - Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment
Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting
