Job Title: Accountant- Senior
Department: Corporate Grants and Compliance
Location: Hybrid (Onsite & Remote), Riedman Campus, 100 Kings Highway, Rochester NY 14617
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday to Friday, (8 am - 5:00 pm)
The Accountant - Senior, as a member of the Finance Department at Rochester Regional Health will prepare and support monthly and annual financial close and reporting activities. The Accountant – Senior will develop subject matter expertise in specific areas to which he/she is assigned and will be responsible for providing analysis and support for assigned financial areas. The Accountant – Senior will lead team level project and processes and provide guidance, assistance, and training for other accountants on the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly general and standard journal entries.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance.
Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, workshops, conferences, etc. to keep abreast of the field.
Maintain required records, reports, and files
Ensures timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements for management review and assists with the budget development.
Analyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting reserves, assets and expenditures.
Prepares and analyzes 990 workbooks and works as liaison with auditors during annual audits.
Perform other duties as directed

High level of computer and software competency; proficient with database administration and infrastructure; Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field

Although physical exposure is low, administrative areas within healthcare environments may occasionally involve contact with infectious agents. Some roles may require flexible hours, TB screening, or a valid driver’s license.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
