Business Developer Jobs in Nebraska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business developer in Nebraska?
Most Nebraska employers require a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field, and business development carries no state-issued license or registration in Nebraska. Entry into the field typically starts with inside sales, account coordinator, or marketing associate roles at companies in Omaha or Lincoln. Relevant certifications such as a Certified Professional Sales Leader credential can strengthen a candidacy, and familiarity with Nebraska's dominant sectors, including agriculture, insurance, and logistics, gives candidates a practical edge.
How much do business developers make in Nebraska?
Business developers in Nebraska earn a median of about $90,140 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,250 for the lowest 10% to over $131,030 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business developers in Nebraska?
Nebraska business developer roles are posted by FMNE Insurance Company, Saicon, and Creighton University and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nebraska's concentration of insurance headquarters, agricultural technology firms, and major transportation companies means consistent business development hiring throughout the year.
Which Nebraska cities have the most business developer jobs?
Omaha, Lincoln, and Elkhorn account for the most business developer openings in Nebraska. Omaha drives the largest share because it is home to Fortune 500 insurers, financial institutions, and Union Pacific's headquarters, while Lincoln's state government presence and university ecosystem generate steady demand, and smaller markets reflect the reach of regional agribusiness and logistics employers.
Are there remote business developer jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, and they are reasonably common, since business development work is primarily relationship-based and can often be conducted by phone, video, and travel rather than from a fixed office. About 31% of business developer openings tied to Nebraska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting employer flexibility across the sector. Roles focused on inside sales pipelines and digital account management tend to offer the most remote options.
How can I get hired as a business developer in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or account coordinator role at one of Omaha's large insurance or financial services firms, where employers such as Mutual of Omaha and TD Ameritrade have historically run structured new-graduate programs. Applying to inside sales roles or marketing associate positions at Sandhills Global or Union Pacific also provides a lateral entry point. Building familiarity with agriculture or logistics industries and earning a foundational sales certification helps candidates stand out without direct business development experience.
Where can I find and apply to business developer jobs in Nebraska?
You can find and apply to business developer jobs in Nebraska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nebraska openings across Omaha, Lincoln, and the surrounding region. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and interests, and apply directly to each one.
