This position combines traditional Business Intelligence development with full-stack web development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with databases and complex SQL, developing dashboards and analytical solutions, and building intuitive web applications that allow employees to access and interact with business information.
This individual will work closely with Pre-Construction, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Estimating, Operations, Purchasing, Finance, Recruiting, Human Resources, and other departments to understand business needs and translate them into practical technology solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Write and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and database solutions.
- Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries and application performance.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Design and develop internal web applications, portals, dashboards, and business tools.
- Build user-friendly front-end interfaces for accessing and interacting with company data.
- Develop and maintain back-end application functionality and database integrations.
- Integrate internal applications with third-party systems using REST APIs and other integration methods.
- Develop solutions that combine data from multiple company systems and databases.
- Develop earned-value labor analysis, financial forecasting, operational, and management reporting solutions.
- Automate manual reporting and business processes where practical.
- Translate end-user and departmental requirements into technical and analytical specifications.
- Test, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve existing applications and reporting solutions.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for applications, integrations, databases, and reporting solutions.
- Provide training and support to end users.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of SQL Server development, SQL programming, and query optimization experience.
- Experience developing web-based applications using modern web technologies.
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with at least one modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Experience developing back-end applications using Python, C#, .NET, Node.js, or similar technologies.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party systems.
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or another business intelligence/reporting platform.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, data structures, and application/database integration.
- Ability to translate business problems into practical technical solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
