About the Role
Position Summary
Black Mountain Cabinetry is a locally owned custom and semi-custom cabinetry company serving residential builders, contractors, designers, and homeowners throughout Middle Tennessee. We are looking for an energetic, relationship-driven Business Development Representative to help fuel our continued growth.
This is not a high-pressure sales position. Our ideal candidate genuinely enjoys meeting people, building trust, and creating long-term relationships. You'll spend your time connecting with builders, contractors, designers, remodelers, architects, and homeowners, identifying opportunities, nurturing prospects throughout our sales process, and creating a steady pipeline of qualified projects for our design team.
Our sales cycle often spans weeks or months, so success comes from consistent follow-up, excellent communication, and becoming a trusted resource—not simply making a sale.
If you're self-motivated, enjoy networking, and want to grow with a fast-growing company, we'd love to meet you.
An ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience in business development, outside sales, account management, or relationship-based sales.
- Have experience prospecting for new business and generating qualified leads.
- Be comfortable making outbound calls to warm leads as well as self-sourced prospects.
- Enjoy networking and building authentic, long-term professional relationships.
- Be confident visiting builders, contractors, designers, and job sites in person.
- Have excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Be highly organized and capable of managing a large pipeline of opportunities through multiple stages.
- Be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a go-getter attitude.
- Have a customer-first mindset. Our service is what sets us apart.
- Be comfortable using CRM software to document conversations, schedule follow-ups, and manage opportunities.
- Have familiarity with residential construction, remodeling, cabinetry, or the building industry (preferred but not required).
- Be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with our design and operations teams.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Have excellent time management and follow-through.
- Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a reliable vehicle.
- Be willing to undergo a background check.
- Provide proof of work authorization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Generate new business opportunities through research, referrals, networking, and outreach.
- Call and follow up with warm inbound leads.
- Prospect new builders, contractors, remodelers, designers, architects, and other strategic partners.
- Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Develop and maintain a professional social media presence to represent the company and generate leads
- Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts.
Relationship Building
- Visit builders, contractors, designers, and prospects in person to establish genuine relationships.
- Schedule regular visits to job sites, offices, and networking opportunities.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, chamber events, builder association meetings, and other networking functions.
- Become a trusted resource within the local building community.
- Re-engage inactive clients and past customers.
- Develop referral relationships with industry professionals.
Lead Nurturing
- Follow up consistently with prospects until projects are ready for estimating.
- Analyze client drawings and prepare a sales presentation with rough pricing for the client.
- Coordinate handoffs to the design team once projects are qualified and design deposit is received.
- Continue nurturing relationships throughout the sales cycle with check-ins to ensure the client is taken care of by the team.
- Maintain communication after the project is completed to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with designers and management to ensure prospects receive timely estimates.
- Provide feedback from the field regarding market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.
- Assist with company events, open houses, and marketing initiatives as needed.
About the Company

- Communication – We provide clear and consistent communication at every stage of a project and return calls, texts, and emails promptly to ensure contractors and homeowners can keep their projects moving.
- Integrity – We deliver transparent pricing and realistic estimates from the beginning and clearly explain how design decisions affect cost throughout the process.
- Quality – We maintain strict manufacturer and product standards to ensure our customers receive the highest quality cabinetry available within each price tier.

Business Development Representative Jobs in Nashville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business development representative job in Nashville?
Focus your search on Nashville's SaaS, healthcare technology, and financial services sectors, where BDR hiring is most active. Companies concentrated in the Gulch, Midtown, and Cool Springs consistently post entry and mid-level roles. A demonstrated record of outbound prospecting, familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce or HubSpot, and any exposure to the healthcare or fintech space will give you a concrete edge over candidates with only generalist sales experience.
Which companies hire business development representatives in Nashville?
Employers hiring business development representatives in Nashville right now include Acts Fleet Maintenance, ICBD, and AllEther, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Nashville's mix of fast-growing SaaS startups, established healthcare technology firms, and regional financial services companies means BDR openings appear across a wide range of company sizes and stages.
Are there remote business development representative jobs in Nashville?
Yes, though availability depends on the role since BDR work tied to local relationship-building or in-person demos tends to be on-site. About 57% of business development representative openings tied to Nashville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, primarily at SaaS and technology companies. Outbound prospecting and inside sales functions are the most commonly offered as fully remote within Nashville's market.
How can I get a business development representative job in Nashville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Nashville is through sales development representative or customer success associate roles at local SaaS startups and healthcare technology companies, which regularly hire candidates without prior BDR experience. Nashville's growing startup scene in the Gulch and East Nashville offers junior pipeline roles that build into BDR positions. Completing an online sales bootcamp, earning a HubSpot or Salesforce certification, and applying directly to companies under 200 employees significantly improves your chances.

Nashville business development representative roles concentrate in Staffing & Recruiting and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Nashville's identity as a healthcare and technology hub, combined with a maturing SaaS startup ecosystem and a strong regional financial services presence, drives consistent BDR demand across those sectors year-round.
