Digital Marketing Specialist Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a digital marketing specialist in Tennessee?
Tennessee does not require a state-issued license to work as a digital marketing specialist. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, though some hire candidates who hold recognized certifications from Google, HubSpot, or Meta in place of a degree. Building a portfolio of measurable campaign results and gaining experience with analytics and paid media tools are the practical steps that move candidates into competitive roles across the state.
How much do digital marketing specialists make in Tennessee?
Digital marketing specialists in Tennessee earn a median of about $69,790 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $39,480 for the lowest 10% to over $134,740 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire digital marketing specialists in Tennessee?
Employers hiring digital marketing specialists in Tennessee right now include Sony Music Entertainment, Ballad Health, and C-4 Analytics, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's concentration of large healthcare systems, logistics companies, and hospitality brands means digital marketing roles here frequently sit within in-house teams rather than agencies.
Which Tennessee cities have the most digital marketing specialist jobs?
Nashville, Franklin, and Memphis have the most digital marketing specialist openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the largest share of postings given its headquarters-dense economy in healthcare, entertainment, and finance, while Memphis benefits from major logistics and retail employers, and Knoxville draws demand from its growing tech and university-adjacent business community.
Are there remote digital marketing specialist jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields. Digital marketing work is largely screen-based and easily performed remotely, making it one of the more remote-friendly professional roles. About 44% of digital marketing specialist openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly companies have adopted flexible arrangements for this role. Content creation, SEO, and paid media management are the functions most likely to be offered on a fully remote basis.
How can I get hired as a digital marketing specialist in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a coordinator or marketing associate role within a larger Tennessee employer, where formal training is more common. Healthcare organizations like Vanderbilt University Medical Center and large retailers headquartered in the state often bring on marketing associates and rotate them through digital functions. A Google Analytics certification, a HubSpot content marketing certificate, or a small freelance portfolio showing real campaign metrics gives an entry-level candidate a concrete edge over applicants with coursework alone.
Where can I find and apply to digital marketing specialist jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to digital marketing specialist jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings across the state's major hiring metros and industries. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly to the employers posting them.
