Digital marketing specialist is not a state-licensed role in Wisconsin, so there is no Wisconsin-specific exam or registration required. Most employers hire candidates with a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. Building a portfolio of real campaign results, earning platform certifications from Google or Meta, and gaining experience through internships at Wisconsin employers or university marketing departments are the most direct paths to entry.
How much do digital marketing specialists make in Wisconsin?
Digital marketing specialists in Wisconsin earn a median of about $64,800 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $42,640 for the lowest 10% to over $117,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire digital marketing specialists in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin digital marketing specialist roles are posted by Uline, MyPath, and Grainger and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Wisconsin's mix of Fortune 500 headquartered companies, regional healthcare systems, and established consumer brands creates consistent demand for digital marketing talent.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most digital marketing specialist jobs?
Oshkosh, Milwaukee, and Madison have the most digital marketing specialist openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee drives the largest share because of its concentration of financial services firms, insurance companies, and consumer brands headquartered there, while Madison's technology sector and large university employers anchor a strong second market, and Green Bay's retail and food-industry employers contribute steady openings.
Are there remote digital marketing specialist jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, and more than most fields. Content strategy, paid search management, and analytics roles are the most consistently offered as fully remote positions.
How can I get hired as a digital marketing specialist in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a coordinator or marketing associate role at a mid-size Wisconsin company, where generalist exposure builds fast. Northwestern Mutual, Exact Sciences, and regional healthcare networks like Froedtert Health and UW Health run internship and rotational programs that regularly convert to full-time hires.
