New Jersey's dense pharma and financial services sectors often favor candidates who can show domain experience alongside technical skills.
How much do business intelligences make in New Jersey?
Business intelligences in New Jersey earn a median of about $135,280 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,720 for the lowest 10% to over $203,950 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business intelligences in New Jersey?

New Jersey's concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters, insurance carriers, and global consulting firms makes it one of the more active BI hiring markets in the Northeast.

Jersey City, Perth Amboy, and Edison have the most business intelligence openings in New Jersey. The distribution follows the state's major corporate corridors: Newark draws financial services and tech firms, Princeton anchors pharmaceutical and research-driven employers, and Parsippany serves as a hub for consulting and consumer goods companies, each of which runs large analytics and reporting functions.

Companies like Cognizant and Deloitte's New Jersey offices run structured analyst programs that onboard candidates without deep experience. Building a portfolio of public datasets visualized in Tableau or Power BI, or completing a vendor certification, gives candidates a concrete edge when applying to these programs.
