ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Power BI Engineer – Senior Consultant, you will make an impact by designing, building, and optimizing scalable data visualization and reporting solutions. You will be a valued member of the Data & Analytics Consulting team, working closely with clients, data engineers, and business stakeholders to turn complex data into actionable insights.

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop end-to-end Power BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data models
• Build and optimize data models using best practices (star schema, fact/dimension design)
• Develop advanced logic using DAX and Power Query (M) to support business reporting needs
• Integrate and transform data from multiple sources using ETL/ELT processes
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality analytics solutions

WORK MODEL

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-4 days a week in a client office in Newark, New Jersey. WHAT YOU MUST HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED

• Hands-on experience with Power BI (Desktop and Service)
• Strong expertise in DAX and Power Query (M)
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices
• Experience with data warehousing (fact/dimension, star schema design)
• Experience in building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines
• Strong experience with data integration (APIs, data connectors, integration tools)

THESE WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED

• Experience with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or other cloud data platforms
• Consulting or client-facing delivery experience
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The annual salary for this position is between $86,000 – $101,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
