Business Intelligence Manager Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business intelligence manager in Arizona?

Most Arizona employers expect a bachelor's degree in business analytics, information systems, or computer science, often supplemented by a master's or MBA for management roles. Building experience as a BI analyst or data engineer at Arizona's large healthcare systems, financial firms, or tech companies, then stepping into a team lead position, is the most common progression in the state.
How much do business intelligence managers make in Arizona?
Business intelligence managers in Arizona earn a median of about $107,240 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $65,200 for the lowest 10% to over $161,730 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business intelligence managers in Arizona?
Employers hiring business intelligence managers in Arizona right now include Amazon, Sundt, and Terros, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arizona's large healthcare networks, financial services firms headquartered in the Phoenix metro, and semiconductor manufacturers also post consistently for experienced BI managers.
Which Arizona cities have the most business intelligence manager jobs?
Phoenix, Tempe, and Tucson account for the most business intelligence manager openings in Arizona. Phoenix drives the largest share because it hosts corporate headquarters for major financial, healthcare, and retail companies, while Scottsdale and Tempe add significant volume through their dense clusters of technology firms, insurance companies, and university-affiliated research operations.
Are there remote business intelligence manager jobs in Arizona?
Yes, and more than most fields. Business intelligence manager work is largely desk-based and data-driven, making it well suited for remote arrangements. About 60% of business intelligence manager openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's strong compatibility with distributed teams. Strategic planning, dashboard development, and stakeholder reporting are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a business intelligence manager in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a BI analyst or junior data analyst role at a large Arizona employer and building toward management from within. Banner Health, Intel, and American Express all hire entry-level data analysts in the Phoenix metro and promote from those pipelines. A portfolio of Tableau or Power BI dashboards built from public datasets strengthens applications considerably, and earning a Microsoft or Tableau certification signals readiness for more senior work before you have the title to match.
