JOB DESCRIPTION
The Resource Business Planning, Reporting, & Systems Manager is responsible for supporting integrated business planning across operating and joint venture assets, finance, and corporate strategy teams to ensure alignment of resource business plans with the goals / priorities of the business aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. This role will be responsible for coordinating the resource business planning processes, maintaining and improving planning systems (including Riivos and associated reporting tools), and enabling consistent, high-quality performance reporting against the long-range plan. The position plays a critical role in connecting production planning, plant performance, and corporate reporting through robust systems, data integrity, and clear performance insights.
This position is part of the resources organization and will report to the Sr Director of Resource Strategy and Business Planning.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Resource Business Planning:
- Support and coordinate the Resource Business Planning process across Albemarle’s Resources assets including mining joint ventures and brine operations
- Integrate inputs from mine and brine extraction planning, processing, and operations teams into a coherent planning framework
- Support scenario analysis and business case development as required
- Ensure planning assumptions are consistently applied and documented
Performance Reporting & Analysis:
- Lead regular performance reporting against the long-range plan (production, recovery, throughput, operating & capital costs)
- Develop and maintain standard reporting dashboards for operational and executive audiences
- Identify and communicate key variances, trends, and drivers of under/over performance
- Improve transparency and consistency of performance metrics across business units
- Support monthly/quarterly business review cycles
Systems Ownership (Riivos & Planning Ecosystem):
- Own and administer the Resource Business Planning systems environment (including Riivos)
- Work closely with the Database Administrator to ensure data integrity, structure, and accessibility
- Maintain and enhance planning models, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Lead system improvements, upgrades, and user adoption initiatives
- Ensure systems are aligned with business planning requirements and evolving operational needs
Data, Reporting Tools & Governance:
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools for operational performance tracking
- Ensure consistency of data definitions, KPIs, and reporting standards
- Establish and maintain governance processes for planning and reporting data
- Support automation and simplification of reporting workflows
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with Joint Venture, Operational, Project, Finance, and Technical Services teams
- Act as a key interface between operational teams and corporate planning functions
- Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support leadership decision-making through structured analysis and reporting
WHAT YOU BRING
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Geology, Mine Engineering, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)
- 8–12 years of experience in the mining industry, with strong exposure to resource planning, mine planning, or strategic planning roles
- Solid understanding of Mineral Resource and Reserve concepts, mine economics, and life-of-mine planning
- Experience with long-range planning processes, scenario modeling, and portfolio analysis
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Proficiency in planning tools and software (e.g. Excel, Power BI, or other modeling tools)
- Strong experience in data management, KPI development and performance governance including establishing reporting standards and developing actionable business insights
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven problem solver and analytical thinker
Preferred:
- Experience with corporate-level planning or strategy development
- Familiarity with SK-1300, JORC, NI 43-101, or other relevant resource reporting standards
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization
