- Two or more years of cath lab experience performing diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring systems and fluoroscopic imaging equipment

- Experience with sterile scrub and circulating roles during complex coronary and peripheral procedures
Tips for Your Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist Job Search
Tailor your resume to cath lab specifics
List the exact procedures you've scrubbed or circulated on, including coronary angioplasty, stenting, and pacemaker implants. Hiring managers scan for procedure volume and equipment familiarity, so generic clinical language won't separate you from other applicants.
Lead with your RCIS or ARRT credentials
Place your RCIS, ARRT RT(CI), or state licensure directly under your name at the top of your resume. Many postings filter candidates at the screening stage based on certification, so burying credentials in a skills section costs you interviews.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists cardiovascular interventional technologist openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Target postings by equipment platform
Filter your search for the fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring systems you've trained on, such as Philips Azurion or GE Innova. Facilities that already use your platform spend less time onboarding you, which makes your application a stronger operational fit.
Prepare for a hands-on skills assessment
Many cath labs include a practical component alongside the panel interview, asking you to walk through sterile field setup, contrast injection protocols, or radiation safety procedures. Rehearse your verbal explanations of each step as clearly as your physical technique.
Negotiate call and weekend expectations upfront
Cardiovascular interventional roles routinely include on-call rotations for emergent cases, and the schedule structure varies widely by facility. Ask about call frequency, response time requirements, and premium pay before you accept an offer to avoid a mismatch after you start.
Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most cardiovascular interventional technologists?
The most active employers for cardiovascular interventional technologists right now are Massachusetts General Hospital, Mercyhealth, and FMOL Health, and the most openings are in Massachusetts, Washington, and Ohio, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Health systems with high-volume cardiac programs and dedicated interventional suites tend to post the most consistently.
How many cardiovascular interventional technologist jobs are remote?
About 0% of cardiovascular interventional technologist openings are fully remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the hands-on nature of cath lab work. The sub-areas most likely to allow remote arrangements include cardiovascular education, quality assurance review, and clinical training coordination rather than direct procedural roles.
How do you become a cardiovascular interventional technologist?
Start by completing an accredited cardiovascular technology or radiologic technology program that includes clinical rotations in a cardiac catheterization lab. After graduation, earn your ARRT RT(CI) or RCIS credential by passing the relevant certification exam. Many technologists begin as cardiovascular sonographers or radiologic technologists and complete additional cath lab training to specialize in interventional procedures before pursuing a dedicated interventional role.
Can you get hired as a cardiovascular interventional technologist with little experience?
Entry-level candidates can get hired by targeting facilities that run formal cath lab training programs or that explicitly post for new graduates with clinical rotation hours in interventional settings. Highlighting any hands-on exposure to sterile technique, hemodynamic monitoring, or fluoroscopy during your program strengthens an otherwise thin resume. Some hospitals hire candidates with strong radiologic technology backgrounds and train them specifically for interventional duties.
What does the cardiovascular interventional technologist interview process look like?
Most facilities start with a phone screen from HR focused on certifications, schedule availability, and call rotation expectations. A panel interview with the cath lab manager and lead technologists typically follows, covering clinical decision-making scenarios, radiation safety practices, and your experience with specific procedures. Some employers add a practical walkthrough where you describe your sterile scrub technique or equipment setup process to assess your hands-on readiness.
Where can I find and apply to cardiovascular interventional technologist jobs?
You can find and apply to cardiovascular interventional technologist jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from hospitals, cath labs, and outpatient surgical centers across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your credentials and experience level, then apply directly to each opening that fits.
