Care Coordinator Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a care coordinator in Utah?
Most care coordinator roles in Utah require at minimum a bachelor's degree in social work, nursing, or a related health field, along with relevant clinical or community health experience. Many employers prefer or require candidates to hold the Certified Case Manager credential, which is governed nationally but recognized by Utah health systems. Licensure as a licensed clinical social worker through the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing strengthens your candidacy significantly for clinical coordination roles.
Which companies hire care coordinators in Utah?
Employers hiring care coordinators in Utah right now include University of Utah, NovumHealth, and Rocky Mountain Care, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Utah's integrated health system model, especially within Intermountain Health and affiliated plans like SelectHealth, creates consistent demand for care coordinators across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Which Utah cities have the most care coordinator jobs?
The Utah cities with the most care coordinator openings are Salt Lake City, Murray, and Provo. Salt Lake City anchors the market as home to Intermountain Health's flagship facilities, University of Utah Health, and several large Medicaid managed care organizations, while Provo and Ogden draw demand from regional hospital campuses and community health centers serving Utah County and Weber County populations.
Are there remote care coordinator jobs in Utah?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely administrative fields because care coordination often involves direct patient contact, facility visits, and in-person interdisciplinary rounds. About 23% of care coordinator openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting a real but limited share of the market. Roles focused on telephonic case management, utilization review, and chronic disease outreach are the most likely to offer remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a care coordinator in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for patient navigator, care coordinator assistant, or medical case support roles at large Utah health systems such as Intermountain Health or University of Utah Health, which regularly bring in candidates from adjacent roles like medical assistant, community health worker, or patient services representative. Completing a social work internship or a clinical rotation through a Utah university program adds documented coordination experience. Earning a Certified Medical Interpreter credential or completing a community health worker training through a Utah Community Health Center can further differentiate a candidate with a limited direct care coordination background.
Where can I find and apply to care coordinator jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to care coordinator jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to find roles that fit your experience level, specialty, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that match.
