Chef Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a chef job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's hotel corridor along the Arts District, the restaurant-dense Uptown and Knox-Henderson neighborhoods, and the growing restaurant scene in Bishop Arts. High-volume employers like hotel food and beverage operations, upscale steakhouses, and private event venues hire most frequently. Candidates with experience in Tex-Mex, Southern, or upscale American cuisine have a clear edge, as do those who can work brunch and late-night service shifts that define Dallas dining culture.
Which companies hire chefs in Dallas?
Dallas chef roles are posted by Aramark, The SSA, and Thomas Cuisine and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The Dallas market includes a strong mix of luxury hotel properties, independent fine-dining groups, and fast-casual chains with regional headquarters in the Metroplex.
Are there remote chef jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though remote work is rare for hands-on kitchen roles and more common for culinary-adjacent positions like recipe development, food writing, and virtual cooking instruction. About 0% of chef openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which reflects the predominantly on-site nature of the work. Corporate culinary consulting and content-focused roles tied to Dallas-based food brands are the most likely to offer flexibility.
How can I get a chef job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Dallas is a prep cook or kitchen helper role at one of the city's many hotel properties, country clubs, or high-volume casual dining spots in areas like Addison or Las Colinas. These employers hire frequently and often promote from within. Completing a culinary program at El Centro College or Collin College gives you a local credential that Dallas hiring managers recognize, and availability for weekend brunch and evening shifts makes entry-level candidates far more competitive.
