Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the general leadership of the men’s and women’s cross country/track and field teams. The employee is expected to conduct all assigned tasks in a manner that supports program compliance with NCAA, MIAA, and Washburn University policies, rules, and regulations.

- Assist with coaching and developing the skills of Washburn Track and Field athletes.
- Provide individual and group coaching and guidance to assist with running practices, workouts, and meets.
- Responsible for planning team travel, organizing team meals, and home meet administration, which includes organizing officials and volunteers.
- Assist the head coach with the operation of home meets; tracking the academic progress and success of recruits and current student athletes; and assist in the coordination of fundraising, camps, clinics, and special events.
- Attends conferences and workshops, and researches publications, etc., to remain apprised of University, MIAA, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience coaching and/or participating in cross country and/or track.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record under Washburn's standards.
- Master’s degree.
- Collegiate participation in cross country and/or track.
