Overview

Everest Senior Living is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Regional Director of Operations & Wellness to provide leadership and oversight across our California RCFE communities.

This is a senior leadership position for someone who understands both sides of senior living: exceptional resident care and strong community operations. We are looking for a proven leader with significant experience as an Executive Director, Wellness Director, Resident Care Director, Regional Wellness Director, Regional Director of Operations, or similar leadership role within assisted living, memory care, or RCFE communities.

The ideal candidate is someone who can walk into a community, quickly understand what is working and what needs attention, develop the leadership team, improve resident care and compliance, and create accountability for results.

This is a hands-on regional position. We are not looking for someone who wants to manage communities primarily from behind a desk.

The Role

The Regional Director of Operations & Wellness will oversee the overall performance of assigned communities with particular emphasis on resident care, wellness operations, regulatory compliance, leadership development, staffing, quality assurance, and operational performance.

You will work closely with Executive Directors and Wellness Directors to ensure residents are receiving appropriate services, assessments and service plans are accurate and current, changes in condition are properly addressed, medication management systems are being followed, documentation is complete, and communities remain prepared for regulatory review.

You will help community leaders improve staffing, scheduling, employee performance, resident and family satisfaction, department accountability, expense management, and overall community organization.

We want someone who can identify where staff need support, establish clear expectations, and follow through until improvement occurs.

When a community is struggling, you must be comfortable stepping in and helping stabilize the operation. This may involve leadership vacancies, staffing challenges, regulatory concerns, medication issues, resident-care concerns, family complaints, documentation problems, employee performance issues, or other operational challenges.

Resident Care & Wellness

The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of resident care within the RCFE environment.

You should be knowledgeable regarding resident assessments, reassessments, individualized service plans, changes in condition, medication management, incident reporting, falls, hospitalizations, hospice and home health coordination, physician orders, resident documentation, family communication, and appropriate coordination of outside healthcare services.

You will review resident-care practices and work with community leadership to identify risks before they become larger problems.

You should also understand how to investigate incidents, identify trends, determine root causes, develop corrective action plans, and ensure those corrective actions are actually implemented.

RCFE Compliance

Strong knowledge of California RCFE regulations and Title 22 is important for this position.

The Regional Director will help communities maintain continuous licensing readiness and will conduct regular reviews of resident files, employee files, medication documentation, training records, assessments, service plans, incident reporting, staffing practices, and other areas of regulatory compliance.

Leadership & Operations

You will partner with Executive Directors to evaluate staffing, overtime, agency usage, employee turnover, scheduling, department performance, supplies, expenses, vendor relationships, resident retention, and overall community performance.

You should be comfortable reviewing numbers and operational results while never losing sight of the residents behind those numbers.

We want someone who can balance compassion with accountability.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced senior living professional who wants to grow with the company, is confident, organized, approachable, detail-oriented, and able to remain calm under pressure.

You should be a problem solver and a doer. We do not need someone who simply visits a community, creates a list of problems, and leaves. We need someone who helps the team determine what needs to happen, assigns accountability, follows up, and makes sure the problem is actually resolved.

Strong candidates will have significant experience in assisted living, memory care, and/or California RCFE operations, preferably with experience overseeing more than one community.

Experience as an Executive Director combined with wellness or resident-care experience is especially desirable.

A current California RCFE Administrator Certificate is strongly preferred. LVN or RN licensure is highly desirable but is not required for an exceptional candidate with extensive RCFE wellness, compliance, and operational leadership experience.

Regional or high-level experience is preferred, although we will consider an outstanding Executive Director or Wellness leader who is ready to advance into regional leadership.

Success in this position means our communities have strong Executive Directors and Wellness Directors, residents receive appropriate and consistent care, documentation is accurate, medication systems are well managed, employees understand expectations, families receive responsive communication, staffing is appropriate, and communities remain prepared for regulatory review.

It also means problems are identified early and resolved rather than allowed to continue.

Most importantly, we want our Regional Director to help create communities where residents and families feel confident in the care and services we provide and where employees are proud of the work they do.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
