Civil Project Manager Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a civil project manager job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's active growth corridors: the Dallas North Tollway corridor, the southern Trinity River infrastructure projects, and the city's ongoing water and wastewater capital programs. Municipal agencies, regional transportation authorities, and large engineering consultancies driving DART expansion and highway widening projects hire most consistently. Candidates with TXDOT project experience, local subcontractor relationships, or familiarity with Dallas's stormwater compliance requirements stand out in this market.
Which companies hire civil project managers in Dallas?
Employers hiring civil project managers in Dallas right now include City of Dallas, Kimley-Horn, and HDR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's hiring mix skews toward large engineering and environmental consulting firms, regional general contractors, and the City of Dallas public works and utilities departments.
Are there remote civil project manager jobs in Dallas?
Yes, but only selectively, since civil project management is heavily site-dependent by nature. About 27% of civil project manager openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, typically covering planning, estimating, and reporting functions. Construction observation, site coordination, and agency inspection work in Dallas almost always require full on-site presence.
How can I get a civil project manager job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through a project engineer or assistant project manager role at one of the regional civil or environmental engineering consultancies clustered near the Mockingbird Lane and Uptown office districts. Dallas-area firms supporting TXDOT local letting projects and North Texas Municipal Water District contracts regularly hire junior candidates with a civil engineering degree and intern field hours. Obtaining your EIT credential early signals readiness and accelerates promotion timelines at these employers.
Which industries hire the most civil project managers in Dallas?
The sectors hiring the most civil project managers in Dallas are Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Government & Public Sector, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's rapid population growth and multi-billion dollar infrastructure backlog across roads, water systems, and transit make these sectors the dominant and most consistent sources of civil project management demand in the region.
