Client Specialist Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a client specialist in Hawaii?
Most client specialist roles in Hawaii require at minimum an associate's degree, though a bachelor's in business, finance, or a related field is increasingly preferred by Honolulu-area employers. Roles in financial services may require a FINRA Series 6 or Series 63 license, which involves passing a qualifying exam administered through FINRA. Insurance-focused positions typically require an active Hawaii Property and Casualty or Life and Health license issued by the Hawaii Insurance Division. Healthcare client roles generally require no state license but favor candidates with medical billing or coding credentials.
Which companies hire client specialists in Hawaii?
Hawaii client specialist roles are posted by Tiffany &, BAYADA Home Health Care, and The Judiciary, State of Hawaii and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Financial institutions, integrated health systems, and large hospitality and property management companies are consistently among the most active hirers for this role across Oahu and Maui County.
Which Hawaii cities have the most client specialist jobs?
Honolulu, Lihue, and Wailea are the cities with the most client specialist openings in Hawaii. Honolulu drives the majority of demand as the state's commercial and healthcare hub, anchored by its concentration of bank headquarters, insurance carriers, and regional medical centers, while Kahului and Hilo reflect Maui and Big Island growth in healthcare administration and property services.
Are there remote client specialist jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many client specialist roles in Hawaii involve in-person relationship management with local financial, healthcare, or hospitality clients. About 38% of client specialist openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting a modest share of the total market. The portions of the role most likely to be performed remotely are account documentation, follow-up communications, and back-office coordination rather than direct client consultations.
How can I get hired as a client specialist in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a customer service or bank teller role at one of Hawaii's major financial institutions, since First Hawaiian Bank, Bank of Hawaii, and Central Pacific Bank regularly hire associates into client-facing support positions that feed into specialist tracks. Hawaii Pacific Health and The Queen's Health Systems post patient services coordinator roles that accept candidates without prior healthcare experience. Earning a FINRA Series 6 license or completing a community college business program at Honolulu Community College or Kapi'olani Community College before applying gives candidates a measurable edge over other entry-level applicants.
