Clinical Sales Specialist Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical sales specialist in Montana?
Most clinical sales specialist roles in Montana require a bachelor's degree in a life science, nursing, or business field, combined with clinical or sales experience. Montana does not issue a specific state license for clinical sales representatives, but roles selling certain medical devices or compounded pharmaceuticals may require familiarity with Montana Board of Pharmacy regulations. Many candidates enter through clinical backgrounds such as nursing or imaging technology, then transition into territory rep roles with a Montana-based health system or device distributor.
How much do clinical sales specialists make in Montana?
Clinical sales specialists in Montana earn a median of about $83,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $53,380 for the lowest 10% to over $206,390 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical sales specialists in Montana?
Employers hiring clinical sales specialists in Montana right now include Bozeman Health, Billings Clinic, and Benefis Health System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Montana's reliance on critical access hospitals and regional health systems means many openings are tied to vendors and distributors serving those rural and mid-size facilities.
Which Montana cities have the most clinical sales specialist jobs?
The Montana cities with the most clinical sales specialist openings are Missoula, Montana, and Billings. Billings drives the largest share of postings as home to Montana's most sizable regional hospital network, while Missoula and Great Falls generate consistent demand through their anchoring roles as medical and commercial centers for surrounding rural counties.
Are there remote clinical sales specialist jobs in Montana?
Yes, but they're rare. Clinical sales roles depend heavily on in-person relationship building with physicians, OR staff, and clinic buyers, so fully remote positions are uncommon. About 17% of clinical sales specialist openings tied to Montana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be inside sales, clinical education, or account management roles that do not require hands-on product demonstrations.
How can I get hired as a clinical sales specialist in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is transitioning from a clinical role, such as a surgical technologist, radiologic technologist, or registered nurse, into a clinical support or associate sales representative position with a device distributor or regional medical supplier serving Montana hospitals. Billings Clinic and Logan Health both work with vendor partners that run structured field training programs for clinical-to-sales candidates. Earning a Certified Medical Sales Representative credential strengthens an application, and candidates who can demonstrate familiarity with Montana's critical access hospital environment gain a clear edge over those with only urban market experience.
Where can I find and apply to clinical sales specialist jobs in Montana?
You can find and apply to clinical sales specialist jobs in Montana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Montana openings updated regularly. Search for roles that match your specialty, territory preference, and experience level, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
