Account Manager Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a account manager in Montana?
Most Montana employers require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline as the foundation for an account manager role. Account management itself carries no state-issued license in Montana, so hiring decisions center on demonstrated sales or client-service experience and measurable results. Many candidates build toward the role through inside sales, customer success, or business development positions at Montana companies in energy, agriculture, healthcare, or financial services before moving into a full account management seat.
How much do account managers make in Montana?
Account managers in Montana earn a median of about $58,720 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,130 for the lowest 10% to over $116,400 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire account managers in Montana?
Companies currently hiring account managers in Montana include HUB International, Integrated Power Services, and Ecolab, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Montana's concentrated industries in healthcare, natural resources, and regional banking mean many of the most consistent openings come from anchor employers with deep roots in the state rather than national staffing firms.
Which Montana cities have the most account manager jobs?
Billings, Missoula, and Bozeman hold the most account manager openings in Montana. Billings leads as the state's commercial and healthcare capital, anchored by Billings Clinic and a dense corridor of financial and energy firms, while Missoula's university presence and growing tech sector draw business services hiring, and Great Falls benefits from a mix of regional healthcare, agriculture-related commerce, and public-sector contractors.
Are there remote account manager jobs in Montana?
Yes, and more than most fields. Account management is largely desk-based and relationship-driven, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 50% of account manager openings tied to Montana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how widely distributed the state's client base can be. Roles focused on software, financial services, and technology accounts tend to offer the most scheduling flexibility.
How can I get hired as a account manager in Montana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or customer service representative role at a Montana employer in healthcare, banking, or energy, then transitioning once you have a documented record of account ownership. First Interstate BancSystem, Billings Clinic, and NorthWestern Energy all recruit for associate client-facing roles that feed into account management. Earning a Salesforce associate certification or completing a business degree at the University of Montana or Montana State University signals readiness to hiring managers who otherwise require prior experience.
Where can I find and apply to account manager jobs in Montana?
You can find and apply to account manager jobs in Montana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Montana openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to each position without any intermediary step.
