Clinical Sales Specialist Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical sales specialist in Vermont?
Start with a bachelor's degree in life sciences, nursing, business, or a related field, as most Vermont hiring managers expect that foundation. Vermont does not require a state-issued license specifically for clinical sales roles, but employers covering medical devices or pharmaceuticals often prefer candidates with clinical background or manufacturer-issued product certifications. Building experience in a clinical setting, such as a hospital or outpatient clinic affiliated with UVM Health Network or Dartmouth Health, is one of the most practical paths into the role.
How much do clinical sales specialists make in Vermont?
Clinical sales specialists in Vermont earn a median of about $95,900 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,850 for the lowest 10% to over $180,590 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical sales specialists in Vermont?
Vermont clinical sales specialist roles are posted by University of Vermont, Supportive Care, and HCRS and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's mix of large academic medical centers and rural critical-access hospitals creates openings across both established national manufacturers and smaller regional distributors serving the state.
Which Vermont cities have the most clinical sales specialist jobs?
Burlington, Colchester, and Vermont account for the largest share of clinical sales specialist openings in Vermont. Burlington dominates because UVM Medical Center and the broader UVM Health Network concentrate purchasing authority and clinical relationships there, while smaller cities reflect satellite facilities and independent practices that regional device and pharma reps cover as part of multi-site Vermont territories.
Are there remote clinical sales specialist jobs in Vermont?
Yes, but they're rare. About 17% of clinical sales specialist openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how deeply the role depends on in-person relationship building with surgeons, nurses, and procurement staff. The parts of the work most likely to shift remote are administrative tasks like sales reporting, virtual product trainings, and pre-call planning rather than the core territory coverage.
How can I get hired as a clinical sales specialist in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a clinical role such as surgical technician, medical assistant, or pharmacy technician at a Vermont hospital into an associate or junior sales position with the same employer's preferred vendor. UVM Health Network and Dartmouth Health-affiliated facilities in Vermont regularly work with device and pharma companies that run new-representative training programs. Obtaining a manufacturer-sponsored product certification or completing a clinical sales internship with a distributor serving Vermont's rural markets gives candidates a credible edge over general applicants.
Where can I find and apply to clinical sales specialist jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to clinical sales specialist jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
