Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator designs and implements service programming in a designated specialty service line and/or program and manages effective program operations associated with strategic goals. The Program Coordinator supervises a team of clinical providers, managing team member performance and adherence to job duties and responsibilities, and contributing to successful program operations for their respective department and associated strategic goals. Pending approval from the system’s Licensure Committee, the position may include ability to provide clinical supervision to individuals in training.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises and leads a team of Clinical Providers to accomplish department and individual goals.
- Designs, implements, and manages programming and operations in a designated specialty service line and/or program.
- Functions in accordance with the system’s Operational Guidelines and within relevant professional code of ethics.
- Responsible for meeting department-specific productivity expectations for the minimum number of hours spent providing direct client care, the volume and nature of which is established by supervisory staff, and proactive coordination with support services teams to avoid cancellations within 24-hours of client appointments unless there is an emergency or clear conflict of interest.
- Ensures that all client documentation is accurate, in-line with best practices and submitted within the department’s expected timeframe.
- Provides individual, group, family and/or other practical counseling, utilizing his/her experience and ability to meet the needs of the client and the goals of treatment, and engages in any other activities that meet those needs and goals.
- Within limits of experience, educational background, and the system’s time commitments, presents in public forums educational material to promote community understanding of mental health and to enhance community response to mental health problems.
- Carries a regular caseload, the size and nature of which is to be established with supervisory staff.
- According to the system’s guidelines, participates in staffing of clients to identify problems and establish goals and objectives for treatment and assumes management responsibilities for cases assigned.
- Participates in emergency services in order to provide rapid aid in cases of emotional crisis.
- Maintains knowledge of the system’s programs, including admission criteria and referral processes.
- Provides and/or coordinates a comprehensive follow-up plan to all clients for whom they have been responsible.
- Participates in or coordinates emergency services in order to provide rapid aid in cases of crisis.
- Maintains general knowledge of community resources and how to access them for needs beyond the scope of services the system provides.
- According to the system’s guidelines, participates in peer review staffing and departmental/agency meetings. Participates in and contributes to the various staff development activities of the system.
- Responsive to all Quality Assurance/Compliance/Revenue Cycle procedures of the system. Cooperates with utilization review procedures and follows established procedures, policies and regulations.
- Within limits of experience, educational background, and the system’s time commitments, presents in public forums educational material to promote community understanding of mental health and to enhance community response to mental health problems.
- Is responsive and cooperative with management needs/requests, such as data collection, program evaluation, development of grant applications, maintenance of various contracts for services, etc. Participates in and contributes to the various staff development activities of the system.
- Completes all agency required trainings and requirements. Regularly participates in evaluation of self and any assigned staff according to the system’s Policies and Procedures.
- Performs other work assignments or special functions as assigned by department leadership teams, as may be outlined and attached hereto.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of residents, employees of the organization, family members and other contacts in the community.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Shall be able to establish effective relationships via telephone or telehealth and personal contacts. Shall be able to follow direction and accept supervision.
Experience and/or Education Qualifications:
Must possess at least Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field and at least 2 years of relative experience. Requires state license (associated with the system’s location(s) in which they practice) as a Licensed Psychologist (LP), Provisionally Licensed Psychologist (PLP), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (PLMFT), or Provisionally Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (PLMFT). Leadership and/or supervision experience preferred.
Supervisory Requirements:
- Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by all team members.
- Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of the department.
- Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.
- Involve, as appropriate, all team members to achieve goals.
- Effectively communicate to team members any changes and newsworthy events within the department or company.
- Handle difficult team member situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individual.
- Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.
- Reinforces team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the company.
Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.
- Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
- All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements:
ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
