Commercial Project Manager Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a commercial project manager job in Houston?
Focus your search on Houston's energy, construction, and commercial real estate sectors, which generate the highest volume of openings locally. Employers in the Energy Corridor, Greenway Plaza, and the Texas Medical Center hire consistently throughout the year. Candidates with PMP certification, experience managing large-scale capital projects, and familiarity with Houston's contractor networks tend to move through hiring processes faster than generalists.
Which companies hire commercial project managers in Houston?

Houston's hiring base is unusually deep, drawing from major energy operators, national construction and engineering firms, and commercial developers with active project pipelines across the metro.
Are there remote commercial project manager jobs in Houston?
Yes, though commercial project management is largely a site-dependent role, so fully remote positions are less common than in purely analytical fields. About 0% of commercial project manager openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements more prevalent in program oversight and owner's representative roles than in hands-on construction management.
How can I get a commercial project manager job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is through project coordinator or assistant project manager roles at local construction firms, engineering consultancies, or energy companies with structured training programs. Employers in Houston's commercial real estate and infrastructure sectors regularly hire candidates with internship experience or field exposure, and an associate PM credential from PMI can help bridge the gap early in your career.
