Align Your Credentials to USCIS Standards
Manufacturing Technician roles at AMETEK often involve precision assembly and quality control in electronics. Document your technical certifications, associate degrees, or vocational training in formats that clearly map to USCIS specialty occupation criteria for advanced manufacturing work.
Target AMETEK Divisions Actively Hiring Technicians
AMETEK operates across multiple business units in electronic instruments and electromechanical devices. Research which divisions have open Manufacturing Technician roles, as sponsorship decisions are often made at the business unit level, not centrally, affecting your timeline and point of contact.
Clarify OPT and CPT Eligibility Before Applying
AMETEK sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT for Manufacturing Technician roles, making it a realistic target during your student work authorization window. Confirm your OPT start date aligns with AMETEK's typical onboarding cycles, which follow standard manufacturing hiring timelines rather than academic calendars.
Ask Recruiters About H-1B Filing Timelines Directly
H-1B cap-subject filings require USCIS registration in March for an October 1 start. When you reach the offer stage at AMETEK, ask HR explicitly whether the role is cap-subject or if the facility qualifies for a cap-exempt arrangement through any affiliated research function.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter AMETEK Technician Openings
Manufacturing Technician openings at AMETEK are distributed across many U.S. sites and updated frequently. Use Migrate Mate to filter active roles that align with your visa type, so you focus only on positions where sponsorship is a confirmed part of the hiring process.
Prepare Documentation for DOL Prevailing Wage Reviews
DOL prevailing wage determinations for Manufacturing Technicians factor in your work location and specific duties on the production floor. Before the offer stage, gather evidence of your technical scope, since roles involving calibration or electronics testing often qualify for higher wage levels than general assembly.

Find Manufacturing Technician at AMETEK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Technicians?
Yes, AMETEK has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Manufacturing Technician roles within its electronics and hardware divisions. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific business units and hiring needs at individual facilities. If you're at the offer stage, ask the recruiting team directly which visa categories the role supports and confirm the expected H-1B filing timeline with HR.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Technician jobs at AMETEK?
You can apply directly through AMETEK's careers portal, where Manufacturing Technician openings are listed by business unit and location. Migrate Mate also aggregates AMETEK's visa-sponsoring roles, letting you filter by visa type so you can focus on positions relevant to your authorization status. Tailor your application to highlight hands-on electronics or electromechanical experience, as AMETEK's hiring process favors candidates with direct production or quality control backgrounds.
Which visa types are commonly used for Manufacturing Technician roles at AMETEK?
AMETEK sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for Manufacturing Technician positions. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates in engineering technology programs. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical occupations. H-1B sponsorship is generally pursued for longer-term placements where the role meets specialty occupation standards.
What qualifications does AMETEK expect for Manufacturing Technician positions?
AMETEK typically looks for candidates with an associate degree or technical certification in electronics, electromechanical systems, or a related discipline, combined with hands-on experience in precision assembly, calibration, or quality inspection. Roles across AMETEK's instrument and electromechanical divisions often require familiarity with testing equipment, reading technical schematics, and working within ISO-regulated production environments.
How do I plan my timeline if I need AMETEK to file an H-1B on my behalf?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March, with approved petitions taking effect October 1. If you receive an offer from AMETEK outside this window, your start date will depend on when the next cap season opens. Some candidates bridge the gap using OPT or a change of status from another valid nonimmigrant category. Discuss timing with AMETEK's HR team well before your authorization expires to avoid gaps in work eligibility.
