Align your credentials to AMETEK's technical standards
AMETEK's Operations Technician roles typically require hands-on electronics or electromechanical credentials. Get any foreign technical certifications evaluated by a NACES-accredited agency so your qualifications translate clearly to a U.S. hiring team reviewing your application.
Target AMETEK divisions with active production demand
AMETEK operates dozens of business units across Electronic Instruments and Electromechanical segments. Research which divisions are actively hiring Operations Technicians, since sponsorship decisions are often made at the business unit level rather than centrally.
Confirm your visa category fits the role classification
Operations Technician positions can be filed under H-1B, TN, or supported through F-1 OPT or CPT depending on your background. Verify with AMETEK's HR team early which category they intend to file, since the documentation requirements differ significantly between them.
Browse open Operations Technician roles on Migrate Mate
Filter by AMETEK on Migrate Mate to see current Operations Technician openings that are open to visa sponsorship. This saves you from applying through general job boards where sponsorship eligibility isn't visible upfront.
Prepare for AMETEK's E-Verify onboarding process
AMETEK participates in E-Verify, so your work authorization documents must be airtight before your start date. Gather your I-94, visa stamp, and any approval notices in advance so Form I-9 verification clears without delays on day one.

Find Operations Technician at AMETEK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Technicians?
Yes, AMETEK does sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Technician roles, though sponsorship decisions are typically made at the business unit level given AMETEK's decentralized structure. Your best approach is to confirm sponsorship eligibility directly with the hiring team for the specific division you're applying to, since practices can vary across AMETEK's many operating companies.
How do I apply for Operations Technician jobs at AMETEK?
You can apply through AMETEK's careers portal or use Migrate Mate to filter for AMETEK's Operations Technician openings that are open to visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight electromechanical or electronics hardware experience relevant to the specific division. Follow up with the recruiter to confirm the role's sponsorship status before investing significant time in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Operations Technician roles at AMETEK?
AMETEK has sponsored H-1B visas for technical operations roles and also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. Canadian and Mexican nationals may be eligible for TN status if their role qualifies under an applicable USMCA occupation category. J-1 exchange visitor sponsorship is less common for this role type but has been used in certain training contexts.
What qualifications or experience does AMETEK expect for Operations Technician roles?
AMETEK typically looks for candidates with an associate's or bachelor's degree in electronics technology, electromechanical engineering, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Familiarity with precision instruments, circuit board assembly, or quality control processes is a strong differentiator. Foreign credentials should be evaluated by a NACES-accredited body before you apply.
How do I plan my timeline if I need AMETEK to sponsor my visa?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, AMETEK would need to file your petition in April for an October 1 start date, so your offer and onboarding paperwork need to be finalized well before the March registration window. If you're on F-1 OPT, factor in that USCIS recommends applying for your EAD at least 90 days before your authorization start date to avoid any gap in your ability to work.
