Align your portfolio to Apple's infrastructure stack
Apple's DevOps org runs heavily on Kubernetes, Terraform, and internal CI/CD tooling at massive scale. Before applying, document specific projects where you reduced deployment failures or improved system reliability across distributed environments.
Target teams managing Apple's cloud and on-prem hybrid systems
Apple operates a hybrid infrastructure model unlike most pure-cloud employers. Roles tied to iCloud, App Store, or Apple Silicon toolchains tend to require deeper infrastructure ownership, which strengthens the specialty occupation case for your visa petition.
Get your credentials evaluated before the LCA stage
If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation completed before your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL. Delays at this stage can push your start date back by weeks, which matters when you're managing OPT or grace period timelines.
Clarify your visa type preference during the offer stage
Apple sponsors multiple visa categories for DevOps engineers. If you're Australian, the E-3 avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm whether your team will support H-1B cap-season filing before your OPT expiry, so you're not caught in a status gap.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Senior DevOps roles at Apple
Sponsorship-eligible DevOps openings at Apple don't always surface clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter Apple's active Senior DevOps Engineer listings by visa type so you're only spending time on roles that match your sponsorship situation.
Prepare for Apple's technical loop before discussing immigration
Apple's engineering interview process for senior-level DevOps roles typically includes system design rounds focused on large-scale distributed systems. Immigration questions come after an offer is extended, so your technical preparation determines whether you reach the sponsorship conversation at all.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Devops Engineers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Senior DevOps Engineers. Apple is a well-established H-1B sponsor with a consistent history of filing petitions for technical roles in this function. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, Apple can file your H-1B visa cap-season petition through USCIS before your OPT expires, provided your offer is in place before the April 1 filing window.
How do I apply for Senior Devops Engineer jobs at Apple?
Apply directly through Apple's careers site and filter by DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles at the senior level. Tailor your resume to reflect infrastructure ownership at scale, not just tooling familiarity. Migrate Mate also surfaces Apple's open Senior DevOps Engineer roles filtered by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify the right listings faster without sifting through roles that don't apply to your situation.
Which visa types does Apple commonly sponsor for Senior Devops Engineers?
Apple sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for DevOps roles. Australians frequently use the E-3 visa pathway since it bypasses the H-1B lottery and allows unlimited two-year renewals. Canadian and Mexican nationals often use the TN visa. For long-term permanent residence, Apple supports PERM-based Green Card sponsorship for senior engineers.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Senior Devops Engineers?
Apple expects senior-level candidates to have deep experience with container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, and large-scale CI/CD systems. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field is standard, and this degree requirement is what qualifies the role as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Hands-on experience with Apple's scale, meaning billions of device endpoints and global data centers, is the benchmark interviewers use.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if I receive an offer from Apple?
Timeline depends on your visa category. For H-1B, your employer files with USCIS between April 1 and the cap deadline, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. E-3 and TN visas can move faster, often resolving within a few weeks of receiving your offer documents. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship runs separately and can take two or more years depending on your country of birth and DOL audit timelines.
