Description
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARWR) is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company that develops medicines that treat intractable diseases by silencing the genes that cause them. Using a broad portfolio of RNA chemistries and efficient modes of delivery, Arrowhead therapies trigger the RNA interference mechanism to induce rapid, deep, and durable knockdown of target genes. RNA interference, or RNAi, is a mechanism present in living cells that inhibits the expression of a specific gene, thereby affecting the production of a specific protein. Arrowhead’s RNAi-based therapeutics leverage this natural pathway of gene silencing. Arrowhead is focused on developing innovative drugs for diseases with a genetic basis, typically characterized by the overproduction of one or more proteins that are involved with disease. The depth and versatility of our RNAi technologies enables us to potentially address conditions in virtually any therapeutic area and pursue disease targets that are not otherwise addressable by small molecules and biologics. Arrowhead is leading the field in bringing the promise of RNAi to address diseases outside of the liver, and our clinical pipeline includes disease targets in the liver and lung with a promising pipeline of preclinical candidates. Arrowhead’s corporate headquarters is in Pasadena, CA with research and development teams in Madison, WI and San Diego, CA. Our employees are nimble, science-driven innovators who are collaborating to bring new therapies to patients in need.

Frame your BD credentials for biopharma deals
Arrowhead's Business Development work centers on RNA-targeted therapeutics and pipeline partnerships. Tailor your resume to show experience with licensing negotiations, deal structuring, or scientific diligence in a drug development context, not just general corporate BD.
Target roles tied to active pipeline stages
Arrowhead advances multiple RNA interference programs simultaneously. BD openings tied to late-stage assets or partnering deals tend to move faster through headcount approvals, which shortens the gap between offer and sponsorship filing initiation.
Prepare your PERM documentation proactively
If you're pursuing an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card through Arrowhead, the PERM labor certification process requires detailed employment records and degree verification. Gather transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations, and prior employment documentation before your first sponsorship conversation with HR.
Ask specifically about the offer-to-filing timeline
BD roles at pharmaceutical companies involve legal and compliance review before any USCIS petition is filed. Ask the recruiter directly what internal steps precede the I-129 filing so you can map that against your current visa expiration or OPT end date.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified BD openings
Searching broadly for BD roles at Arrowhead misses positions that actively support sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals Business Development jobs by the visa types you hold, so you only spend time on roles where your authorization is a fit.

Find Business Development at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals does not appear in recent public H-1B LCA disclosure data as a frequent filer for Business Development roles specifically, but the company does sponsor employment-based visas including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards. If H-1B sponsorship is your primary path, confirm the role's eligibility directly with the recruiter before advancing through the interview process.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals?
Applications go through Arrowhead's careers portal on their official website. Before applying, filter open Business Development roles by your visa type using Migrate Mate to confirm sponsorship is realistic for that specific position. Tailor your application to highlight biopharma deal experience, scientific fluency, and any background in RNA or gene therapy partnerships, since Arrowhead's BD team works closely with its pipeline teams.
Which visa types does Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals commonly sponsor for Business Development roles?
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals sponsors F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, EB-2, and EB-3 for Business Development positions. F-1 OPT is the most common entry point for recent graduates. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. EB-2 and EB-3 are the primary Green Card pathways for longer-term sponsorship.
What qualifications does Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals expect for Business Development roles?
Arrowhead's BD team works on RNA interference and other genetic medicine programs, so a background combining scientific literacy with deal-making experience is a strong fit. Most roles expect a bachelor's degree at minimum, with preference for life sciences or business fields. Experience with licensing agreements, due diligence, or pharma partnership negotiations strengthens your candidacy meaningfully over a general business background.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Development hire at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals?
Timeline depends on your visa category. F-1 OPT authorization is already in place when you start, so no additional USCIS filing is needed initially. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card processes begin with PERM labor certification through the DOL, which can take 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition is even filed. Build this lead time into your career planning conversation with Arrowhead's HR team early in the offer stage.
