Align Your Credentials to Healthcare Administration Standards
Banner Health's administrative roles often support clinical operations, so certifications in medical office management or healthcare administration carry real weight. Ensure your resume reflects scheduling, records management, or HIPAA-adjacent experience before applying.
Target Banner Health's Regional Hiring Hubs First
Banner Health concentrates hiring across Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming. Focusing your search on high-volume markets like Phoenix or Tucson increases your chances of landing a role in a department that actively processes sponsorship paperwork.
Clarify Sponsorship Intent Early in Recruiter Conversations
Ask the recruiter directly whether the specific department has sponsored for the role before. Banner Health is a large system, and sponsorship decisions sometimes vary by facility or business unit, not just job title.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Open Roles Efficiently
Browse verified Administrative Assistant openings at Banner Health that are screened for sponsorship eligibility using Migrate Mate. This saves you from applying to postings where visa support was never on the table.
Understand H-1B Cap Timing Before Accepting an Offer
If you're not already in H-1B status, the annual cap registration window opens in March for an October 1 start date. Build that USCIS timeline into your offer negotiation so Banner Health's HR team can initiate the LCA with DOL well in advance.
Request Written Confirmation of Sponsorship Scope in Your Offer
Before signing, confirm in writing whether Banner Health will cover petition filing fees and whether they intend to support Green Card sponsorship through the PERM process. Administrative roles at large healthcare employers sometimes include EB-2 or EB-3 pathways.

Find Administrative Assistant at Banner Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Banner Health sponsor H-1B visas for Administrative Assistants?
Yes, Banner Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Administrative Assistants. Because administrative roles must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines, your application is stronger when the position requires a specific bachelor's degree field, such as healthcare administration or business, rather than accepting any unrelated degree. Roles that are more specialized or support clinical leadership tend to have clearer sponsorship pathways within Banner Health's system.
How do I apply for Administrative Assistant jobs at Banner Health?
Applications go through Banner Health's careers portal at bannerhealth.com. You can also browse Administrative Assistant openings at Banner Health that are filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which helps you identify the right postings before investing time in the full application. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight healthcare-specific administrative experience, such as EHR systems, patient scheduling, or clinical department support.
Which visa types does Banner Health commonly use for Administrative Assistant roles?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa Banner Health uses for Administrative Assistants, though qualifying the role as a specialty occupation is a prerequisite. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Banner Health has used the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, which require PERM labor certification filed with the DOL. The right pathway depends on your qualifications and the specific responsibilities of the role you're hired into.
What qualifications does Banner Health expect for Administrative Assistant roles?
Banner Health typically expects a combination of post-secondary education and direct administrative experience, with a preference for candidates who have worked in a healthcare or clinical setting. Familiarity with electronic health record platforms, medical terminology, and HIPAA compliance practices distinguishes applicants in competitive hiring cycles. For sponsored positions specifically, having a degree in a field directly tied to the role strengthens the specialty occupation argument required by USCIS for H-1B petitions.
How do I plan around the visa sponsorship timeline for a Banner Health offer?
If you need H-1B sponsorship and aren't currently in status, account for the fact that USCIS only accepts new H-1B cap registrations in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1. This means an offer in spring may not translate to authorized work until fall. Discuss this timeline with Banner Health's HR team immediately after receiving an offer so they can file the Labor Condition Application with DOL and prepare the I-129 petition without delay.
