Obtain ARRT Certification Before Applying
Banner Health expects Radiology Technologists to hold active ARRT certification and state licensure for the location you're targeting. Get both in order before submitting applications, missing either will stall any sponsorship conversation before it starts.
Target Imaging Roles at Banner Hospitals Directly
Banner Health posts Radiology Technologist openings by specific facility and modality. Search their careers portal filtering by imaging or diagnostic radiology. Facility-level postings often reflect genuine staffing shortages, which increases the likelihood that a hiring manager will pursue sponsorship.
Browse Banner Health Visa Sponsorship Jobs on Migrate Mate
Banner Health's Radiology Technologist openings that include visa sponsorship aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for verified sponsoring employers in healthcare imaging so you're only applying to roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Ask Recruiters About H-1B Cap-Exempt Status Early
Banner Health is a nonprofit hospital system, which can qualify as a cap-exempt H-1B employer. Confirm this with the recruiter before your offer stage, cap-exempt filing means you avoid the annual lottery and can start sooner, often within a few months of approval.
Prepare Your Employment History for PERM Documentation
If Banner Health pursues an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card for you, DOL's PERM process requires detailed employment records. Gather W-2s, employer letters, and pay stubs covering all prior Radiology Technologist positions now so you're not scrambling when your attorney requests them.
Align Modality Specialization with Open Facility Needs
Banner Health's sponsorship willingness often tracks its hardest-to-fill imaging gaps. If you're trained in CT, MRI, or interventional radiology, lead with that specialization in your resume and cover letter to position yourself as filling a specific clinical need rather than a general slot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Banner Health sponsor H-1B visas for Radiology Technologists?
Yes, Banner Health sponsors H-1B visas for Radiology Technologists. As a nonprofit hospital system, Banner Health may qualify as a cap-exempt H-1B employer, which means petitions can be filed outside the annual lottery and processed on a rolling basis. You'll want to confirm cap-exempt eligibility with the recruiter during the offer stage, as it affects your start date and timeline significantly.
How do I apply for Radiology Technologist jobs at Banner Health?
Apply directly through Banner Health's careers portal, filtering by job category and location. Each posting is facility-specific, so identify which hospital or imaging center aligns with your modality training. You can also browse verified Banner Health openings that include visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which filters out roles where sponsorship isn't confirmed, saving you time during your search.
Which visa types does Banner Health commonly use for Radiology Technologist roles?
Banner Health most commonly uses H-1B visas for Radiology Technologists needing nonimmigrant work authorization. For longer-term pathways, the organization has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa classifications, which lead to a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process with the Department of Labor. The right path depends on your qualifications, country of birth, and how long you plan to remain in the U.S.
What qualifications does Banner Health expect from Radiology Technologist candidates seeking sponsorship?
Banner Health expects candidates to hold active ARRT certification in Radiography and a valid state license for the state where the role is located. A relevant associate's or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology is standard. For specialty modalities like CT or MRI, additional ARRT certifications strengthen your application. Banner Health's H-1B filings for this role require the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, so a degree in a directly related field is essential.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Radiology Technologist role at Banner Health?
If Banner Health qualifies as cap-exempt, USCIS H-1B processing runs roughly three to six months under standard processing, or a few weeks with premium processing. If you're pursuing a Green Card through EB-3, the PERM labor certification stage with DOL alone can take six to twelve months before USCIS even receives the immigrant petition. Start conversations with Banner Health's HR team early so sponsorship timelines align with your current authorization status.
