Frame your credentials around territory sales
Champion Home Builders operates through a dealer and community distribution model. Tailor your resume to show experience managing dealer relationships, regional account growth, or B2B sales cycles in manufacturing or building products, not just quota attainment.
Target roles tied to regional expansion
Manufactured housing sales positions at Champion often align with plant service territories and new community development. Apply to postings that reference specific regional markets or dealer development, where headcount demand is driven by growth rather than backfill.
Raise sponsorship before the offer stage
Bring up your H-1B status during the second or final interview round, not after an offer is extended. Framing it as a straightforward process, with a clear timeline, reduces hesitation from hiring managers unfamiliar with manufacturing-sector sponsorship.
Verify your employer's E-Verify enrollment early
H-1B employers must be E-Verify participants. Confirm Champion's enrollment status through the E-Verify employer search tool before your final interview so you can address any compliance questions confidently and avoid last-minute delays in the filing process.
Build a case for specialty occupation status
USCIS scrutinizes Sales roles under the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Prepare documentation showing your position requires a specific bachelor's degree, such as Business, Marketing, or a field tied to manufactured construction, not just any degree plus sales experience.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Sales roles
Finding which Champion Home Builders Sales positions are actively posted, and which markets are hiring, takes time. Use Migrate Mate to filter job openings by company and sponsorship history so you can focus your applications where hiring is actually happening.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Champion Home Builders sponsor H-1B visas for Sales?
Champion Home Builders has sponsored H-1B visas for Sales roles, though sponsorship decisions are made on a case-by-case basis depending on the specific position and business need. Sales roles at Champion require demonstrating specialty occupation status to USCIS, which means your degree must align directly with the responsibilities of the role, not just general business experience.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Champion Home Builders?
Applications go through Champion Home Builders' careers portal, where postings are listed by region and function. You can also browse open Sales positions filtered by sponsorship history on Migrate Mate before applying directly. When applying, tailor your materials to the specific territory or dealer network the role covers, since Champion's Sales structure is heavily regional.
What visa types are commonly used for Sales roles at Champion Home Builders?
The H-1B is the primary work visa pathway for Sales professionals at Champion Home Builders. H-1B sponsorship requires the employer to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and petition USCIS on your behalf. If you're already in the U.S. on OPT or another nonimmigrant status, your employer would file to change or extend your status through the same H-1B process.
What qualifications does Champion Home Builders expect for Sales positions?
Champion typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a field relevant to the construction or housing industry, combined with demonstrated B2B or dealer-facing sales experience. For H-1B eligibility specifically, USCIS requires the role to normally require a specific bachelor's degree, so candidates whose degree directly connects to manufactured housing sales are better positioned than generalist business graduates.
How do I plan the H-1B filing timeline for a Sales role at Champion Home Builders?
The standard H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with an employment start date of October 1 if selected. If you're on OPT, cap-gap protections can extend your work authorization through September 30 while the petition is pending. Your employer needs a certified LCA from the DOL before filing the H-1B petition with USCIS, so the process typically starts several months before the cap registration window opens.
