Chatham has worked hard to create a distinct work environment that values people, teamwork, integrity, and client service. You will have immediate opportunities to partner with talented subject matter experts, work on complex projects, and contribute to the value Chatham delivers every day.
Job Summary
We are seeking to strengthen our Financial Risk Advisory team with a Regulatory and Documentation Advisory Associate based in our Kennett Square office. This role will focus on analyzing global derivatives regulations and related documentation, translating complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance for both internal stakeholders and external clients. Working at the intersection of regulatory advisory and operations, the successful candidate will develop expertise in derivatives market regulation, assess the impact of regulatory developments, and help clients navigate evolving compliance and documentation requirements. The role reports to the Regulatory and Documentation Advisory team and offers the opportunity to collaborate across multiple functions to deliver thoughtful, client-focused solutions in a dynamic regulatory environment.
Responsibilities
Regulatory Advisory:
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on global derivatives regulation and compliance obligations, counterparty classifications, and jurisdictional scoping, focusing on Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and UK EMIR rules
- Review bank regulatory documentation for Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and other global derivatives regulation and facilitate accurate completion on behalf of clients and internal deal teams
- Understand and review derivative trade documentation, comparing against Chatham transaction records, for accuracy, included terms, and regulatory compliance information
- Develop and maintain expertise on S&P Counterparty Manager and ISDA Protocols and protocol adherence
- Identify and effectively communicate industry and regulatory developments, interpretation, and trends, both internally and externally
- Participate in industry working groups, such as those provided by ISDA and DTCC, to understand market practices and evolving expectations for derivatives regulatory compliance
Regulatory Operations
- Help coordinate completion and delivery of reoccurring compliance reports for clients
- Provide guidance to internal teams and clients on regulatory perspectives and impacts related to regulatory operations, such as regulatory reporting, portfolio reconciliation, and trade repository onboarding
- Manage outstanding documentation, updates, and reminders on regulatory advisory issues impacting operations or client reporting
- Effectively collaborate with Technology/Product and Regulatory Operations teams, and other Chatham teams, to help translate regulatory requirements into technical requirements for new product builds, rule rewrites, and process improvement
The role may also include opportunities to contribute to the team in other capacities as interests and team needs align.
Your impact:
Our team works in partnership with Chatham’s advisory teams and clients to help them efficiently navigate the operational and regulatory compliance aspects of a transaction. We strive to continually improve the workflows we are responsible for and have the chance to do so by implementing process changes and/or leveraging supporting technology. Team members play a crucial role in these process improvements and serve as subject matter experts, providing regular training and resources for all Chatham teams.
Contributors to your success:
- A legal degree is strongly preferred; 2+ years of experience working in legal services, legal operations, or contract review may be beneficial but is not required
- Strong interest in operations, cross-functional work, and project and process management; interest in automation, legal technology, and AI is preferred
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Ability to multitask and independently prioritize workload
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
We seek individuals who will thrive in our culture and contribute meaningfully to our clients, colleagues, and business objectives. Many team members join Chatham without prior derivatives experience; therefore, we provide comprehensive training through a combination of structured learning programs, hands-on experience, and mentorship opportunities. We value individuals who demonstrate initiative, curiosity, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. Chatham invests significantly in employee development and seeks team members who are excited to build their skills, collaborate with others, and contribute to our success over time.

Target quantitative and technology roles first
Chatham Financial's core business in financial risk advisory means its strongest hiring is in quantitative analysis, software engineering, and data-driven consulting, roles that align closely with the specialty occupation requirements for H-1B and Green Card sponsorship.
Understand the consulting firm sponsorship dynamic
Professional services firms like Chatham Financial typically sponsor visa holders tied to client-facing or technical delivery roles. Positioning yourself as someone who drives measurable outcomes, not just fills a seat, strengthens your case during the hiring process.
Highlight your OPT or CPT eligibility early
Chatham Financial sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, making it a realistic first employer for recent international graduates. Mention your work authorization status clearly in your application so recruiters don't filter you out on assumptions about future sponsorship complexity.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship timelines in later-stage interviews
Chatham Financial has a track record of sponsoring EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, suggesting long-term commitment to retained international talent. Raise the topic after receiving an offer, not during early screening, to avoid signaling that sponsorship is your primary motivation.
Browse open roles through a verified sponsorship filter
Not every job posting mentions visa sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your applications on Chatham Financial openings where international candidates have a genuine shot.
Leverage TN eligibility if you're Canadian or Mexican
Chatham Financial sponsors TN visas, which is a strong signal for Canadian and Mexican professionals. TN processing is faster and simpler than H-1B, so if you qualify, lead with that in your conversation with recruiters to reduce their perceived sponsorship burden.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Chatham Financial sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Chatham Financial sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established track record of H-1B filings, particularly for technical and analytical roles in financial risk advisory. If you're currently on OPT or another nonimmigrant status and targeting a long-term U.S. work path, Chatham Financial is worth pursuing as a potential H-1B sponsor.
What visa types does Chatham Financial sponsor?
Chatham Financial sponsors H-1B, TN visa, J-1 visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. This breadth of sponsorship is relatively uncommon among mid-sized consulting firms and reflects a genuine commitment to hiring international talent across different career stages and nationalities.
Which roles at Chatham Financial are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Chatham Financial is most common for roles requiring specialized quantitative, technical, or financial expertise, think software engineers, financial analysts, risk consultants, and data scientists. These roles align with H-1B specialty occupation requirements and are where the company has historically concentrated its international hiring. Generic business or administrative roles are less likely to be sponsored.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Chatham Financial?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find current openings at Chatham Financial that are open to visa sponsorship. Rather than sifting through job boards that don't distinguish between sponsors and non-sponsors, Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for companies with verified sponsorship history, including Chatham Financial, so you can apply with confidence.
How do I approach Chatham Financial's hiring process as an international candidate?
Lead with your technical qualifications, not your visa status. Chatham Financial's interviews are typically competency-driven with a strong focus on quantitative and problem-solving ability. Once you've cleared early screening rounds and a hiring manager is interested, the sponsorship conversation becomes much easier. Having your work authorization status and timeline ready to explain clearly and concisely will help move things forward without friction.
