Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Finance Jobs at Chewy Jobs
Align your credentials to retail finance expectations
Chewy's Finance roles often emphasize e-commerce metrics, inventory costing, and margin analysis. Framing your experience around retail-specific financial concepts, not just general accounting, signals you can contribute immediately without a steep learning curve.
Research Chewy's LCA filings before applying
DOL's public LCA disclosure data shows which Finance job titles Chewy has sponsored and at what prevailing wage levels. Cross-referencing those titles against open roles tells you which positions have a clear sponsorship pathway and which don't.
Target roles that match your specific visa category
Chewy sponsors H-1B, TN, and OPT candidates, but eligibility requirements differ by role and education. Confirming that a Finance opening aligns with your visa type before applying saves you from progressing through interviews for a role that won't clear USCIS or DOL requirements.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Finance openings at Chewy
Migrate Mate lets you filter Finance jobs specifically at Chewy by visa type, so you can focus on roles where sponsorship has historically been available rather than sorting through listings manually or contacting recruiters to confirm eligibility upfront.
Clarify OPT or CPT authorization early in the process
If you're on F-1 status, confirm with Chewy's recruiter early whether the role qualifies as STEM OPT-eligible. Finance roles in retail analytics or financial systems often qualify, extending your work authorization window and reducing urgency around the H-1B lottery timeline.
Understand how H-1B cap timing affects your start date
If Chewy files an H-1B petition for you, the cap-subject process means you can't start before October 1 of the fiscal year USCIS selects you. Build that timeline into your negotiation so your projected start date reflects the earliest realistic date under USCIS processing windows.

Find Finance at Chewy JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Chewy sponsor H-1B visas for Finance roles?
Yes, Chewy sponsors H-1B visas for Finance positions. The sponsorship process requires Chewy to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying that the role meets prevailing wage standards, followed by an H-1B petition with USCIS. Finance roles in FP&A, accounting, and financial reporting have historically qualified as specialty occupations under H-1B requirements.
Which visa types does Chewy commonly sponsor for Finance positions?
Chewy sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Finance roles. TN sponsorship is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Finance occupations. F-1 candidates should confirm whether their specific Finance role qualifies for STEM OPT designation, which can extend work authorization significantly beyond the standard 12-month period.
What qualifications does Chewy expect for Finance roles?
Most Finance roles at Chewy require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, with stronger analytical roles often preferring a master's or CPA. Practical experience with financial modeling, ERP systems, and retail-specific metrics like inventory costing or gross margin analysis is consistently valued. Roles in financial systems or analytics may also require proficiency in tools like SQL or Tableau.
How do I apply for Finance jobs at Chewy?
You can search and apply for Finance positions at Chewy directly through their careers portal. To find roles that are open to visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to filter Chewy's Finance listings by visa type so you're applying to positions where international candidates have a realistic path forward. Tailor your application to highlight retail finance experience and quantifiable contributions to financial performance.
How do I manage the timing between a Finance job offer from Chewy and my visa filing?
If you're transitioning from OPT to H-1B, USCIS requires Chewy to submit your petition during the April filing window for an October 1 start date. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, Chewy can file an H-1B transfer and you can begin work once USCIS issues a receipt notice, without waiting for full approval, under portability rules.
