We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.
ALSO is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Material Planner to manage the planning, procurement, and availability of consigned materials supporting our Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners. This role will leverage our NetSuite MRP system to ensure the right materials are available at the right time, minimizing shortages, excess inventory, and production disruptions. The ideal candidate has strong experience in material planning, ERP/MRP systems (preferably NetSuite), and external manufacturing environments.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Own end-to-end planning of consigned materials supplied to Contract Manufacturers.
- Utilize NetSuite MRP to:
- Generate and manage supply plans
- Analyze demand signals and recommend purchase actions
- Maintain accurate planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, lot sizes, etc.)
- Monitor inventory levels across internal and CM locations to ensure continuity of supply.
- Collaborate closely with:
- S&OP team on product lifecycle and demand
- Contract Manufacturers on build schedules, forecasts, and consumption
- Procurement team on purchase orders and supplier performance
- Logistics team on material shipments and transfers
- Identify and mitigate risks related to shortages, excess, or obsolescence.
- Track and reconcile consigned inventory balances and consumption reporting from CMs.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, data accuracy, and system utilization.
- Support S&OP or demand planning cycles with material readiness insights.
- Maintain accurate master data within NetSuite (BOMs, item records, planning attributes).
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–6+ years of experience in material planning, supply planning, or inventory management
- Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and consigned inventory models
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel (much more than just pivot tables)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in hardware, electronics, or manufacturing environments
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP)
- Familiarity with demand planning and S&OP processes
- Experience with inventory reconciliation and audit processes
The salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $145,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding ALSO E-3 Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Align your degree to manufacturing roles
ALSO's E-3 filings center on technical functions where specialty occupation status is clearest. Map your bachelor's degree field directly to the job description before applying, a mismatch between your credentials and the role is the most common reason E-3 petitions stall in manufacturing.
Research ALSO's prevailing wage requirements
Before negotiating your offer, use the OFLC Wage Search to find the prevailing wage for your target role and location. ALSO must certify your salary meets this threshold on the Labor Condition Application, so knowing the floor prevents offer letters that can't support an E-3 filing.
Confirm ALSO's HR team handles E-3 filings
Manufacturing companies often centralize visa processing through corporate HR rather than hiring managers. Ask early in the process whether the team has filed E-3s before, since E-3 doesn't require an I-129 petition the way H-1B does, some HR departments conflate the two and create unnecessary delays.
Use Migrate Mate to check ALSO's filing history
Before your interview, pull ALSO's Labor Condition Application records through Migrate Mate to see which job titles and locations have received E-3 filings. That data tells you which departments have a proven sponsorship track record and which roles may be getting their first E-3 request.
Get your O*NET classification confirmed early
ALSO will need to demonstrate your role meets the specialty occupation definition. Look up your job title in O*NET and confirm the standard occupational category requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Bring this to your offer negotiation so the LCA preparation doesn't hit a classification dispute.
Factor consulate appointment wait times into your start date
E-3 applications go through consular processing in Australia rather than a USCIS change-of-status filing if you're outside the U.S. Consulate appointment slots in Sydney and Melbourne can book out several weeks, so negotiate a start date that gives you realistic buffer without jeopardizing the offer.
ALSO E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does ALSO sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, ALSO sponsors E-3 visas for eligible Australian nationals in qualifying manufacturing roles. Sponsorship is concentrated in technical and operational positions where the specialty occupation requirement is clearly met. Not every open role will be E-3-eligible, so confirming that your specific job title qualifies before submitting an application saves significant time.
Which roles at ALSO typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at ALSO tends to align with engineering, supply chain, and technical operations functions where a degree in a directly related field is a genuine job requirement. Roles in general management or sales are harder to qualify under the specialty occupation standard and are less likely to receive E-3 filings from manufacturing employers like ALSO.
How do I apply for an E-3 visa through ALSO?
ALSO's HR or legal team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which is typically certified within seven business days. You then schedule a consulate appointment in Australia, submit your DS-160, and attend the interview with your LCA, job offer letter, and degree credentials. USCIS is not involved in E-3 consular processing, which is one reason the timeline is faster than H-1B visa.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at ALSO?
The DOL LCA certification step takes around seven business days. After that, your timeline depends on consulate appointment availability in Australia, which can range from a few weeks to over a month depending on the location and season. Building at least six to eight weeks of buffer between your offer acceptance and intended start date is a practical approach for most applicants.
How do I find E-3 job openings at ALSO?
Migrate Mate surfaces ALSO's verified E-3 filing history by job title and location, so you can identify which roles have a track record of sponsorship before you apply. Cross-reference those findings with ALSO's current job postings and target applications toward positions that match both your credentials and the company's documented E-3 filing patterns.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at ALSO?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
