Map your degree to a specialty occupation
Encompass files E-3 petitions for roles that require a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Use O*NET to confirm your target role's education requirements match your field of study before applying.
Request LCA details during the offer stage
Once Encompass extends an offer, ask your recruiter or HR contact to confirm the Labor Condition Application timeline. LCA certification from DOL typically takes seven business days and must be completed before your visa interview.
Verify your prevailing wage alignment early
Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the prevailing wage for your specific role and location before negotiating your offer. Your offered salary must meet or exceed the DOL wage level, and discrepancies can delay or derail your LCA.
Tailor your resume to technical role requirements
Encompass hires for specialized technology and software positions. Frame your resume around systems, platforms, or technical stacks directly relevant to the role rather than general project experience to strengthen the specialty occupation case.
Use Migrate Mate to prepare your E-3 filing
After Encompass confirms sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to handle the E-3 application paperwork. A dedicated E-3 visa expert manages your filing at a flat fee, keeping the process on track for your consulate appointment.
Schedule your consulate appointment before your start date
E-3 visas are issued at the consulate rather than through USCIS, so coordinate your appointment booking with Encompass's intended start date. Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth each have different wait times that affect your actual arrival timeline.
Encompass E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Encompass sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Encompass sponsors E-3 visas for qualifying roles in Technology and Software. Sponsorship is tied to positions that meet the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidelines, meaning the role must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Not every open role will qualify, so confirming eligibility early in the interview process saves time for both sides.
Which roles at Encompass typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Encompass's E-3 sponsorship is concentrated in technical and software-oriented positions such as software engineering, systems analysis, and related technology roles. Roles that require a specific degree field, rather than any bachelor's degree, are the strongest candidates for E-3 approval. Check the job description carefully for degree requirements before pursuing sponsorship for a particular position.
How do I start the E-3 application process at Encompass?
Once Encompass extends an offer and confirms E-3 sponsorship, the employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL. After LCA certification, you complete the DS-160, pay the visa application fee, and attend a consulate interview in Australia. Encompass's HR or legal team typically handles the LCA, while you manage the consulate-side steps yourself or with filing assistance.
How long does the E-3 process take at Encompass?
The employer-side LCA typically certifies within seven business days. Your consulate appointment wait time then depends on which Australian city you book through and the current scheduling backlog. Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth all process E-3 applications, with wait times ranging from a few weeks to over a month during peak periods. Plan your start date accordingly.
How do I find and apply for E-3 roles at Encompass?
Search for open roles at Encompass that align with your technical background and confirm the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. Migrate Mate lists employers with verified E-3 filing history, including Encompass, so you can target applications strategically. When you reach the offer stage, ask directly about E-3 sponsorship and confirm the role meets USCIS specialty occupation requirements before accepting.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Encompass?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
