Align your degree to Fitch's analytical roles
Fitch's E-3 filings concentrate in quantitative and credit-focused positions. Your degree must directly relate to the role, economics, finance, or accounting credentials carry the most weight when supporting a specialty occupation argument at the LCA stage.
Target teams where sponsorship is routine
Fitch's ratings, research, and risk analytics teams are the most likely to have E-3 sponsorship infrastructure in place. Apply to roles explicitly within those divisions rather than generalist or operations tracks where sponsorship decisions are less predictable.
Verify your prevailing wage before negotiating
Run your target role's SOC code through the OFLC Wage Search before any salary discussion. Fitch's LCA must certify your offered wage meets the DOL prevailing wage for your location, knowing this floor prevents surprises late in the offer process.
Confirm Fitch's E-3 filing history with Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to check Fitch Ratings's DOL Labor Condition Application history by role and location. This shows which job titles and offices have active E-3 filing patterns, so you can target your application toward the teams with established sponsorship workflows.
Disclose your E-3 need early in interviews
Fitch's talent acquisition teams handle visa decisions differently across divisions. Raising your Australian citizenship and E-3 requirement before the offer stage, ideally after a first-round interview, avoids late-stage rejections when legal review reveals sponsorship is needed.
Prepare for consular processing, not a status change
The E-3 is issued at a U.S. consulate in Australia, not through a domestic USCIS petition the way H-1B visa transfers work. Once Fitch certifies the LCA with DOL, you'll attend a consular interview in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth to receive the visa stamp.
Fitch Ratings E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Fitch Ratings sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Fitch Ratings sponsors E-3 visas for Australian professionals in qualifying specialty occupation roles. Sponsorship is most common in analytical, credit research, and risk-focused positions across its U.S. offices. As with most financial services firms, E-3 sponsorship decisions are made at the divisional level, so role type and hiring team matter when assessing your chances.
Which roles at Fitch Ratings are most likely to get E-3 sponsorship?
Ratings analyst, credit research, and quantitative risk positions are the roles where E-3 sponsorship is most consistently supported at Fitch. These positions align naturally with specialty occupation requirements because they demand a degree in a directly related field such as finance, economics, or accounting. Generalist or support roles are less predictable candidates for E-3 sponsorship.
How do I start the E-3 application process after receiving a Fitch Ratings offer?
After accepting your offer, Fitch's immigration counsel files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL on your behalf. Once that LCA is certified, you complete the DS-160 online, pay the MRV fee, and schedule a consular interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate in Australia. USCIS is not involved in E-3 consular applications, the process runs through the State Department.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at Fitch Ratings?
LCA certification from DOL typically takes around seven business days. Consular appointment availability in Australia then determines the remaining timeline, with Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth carrying different wait times depending on the period. Total time from signed offer to visa stamp is generally four to eight weeks for straightforward cases, though this varies with consulate workload.
How do I find open E-3 roles at Fitch Ratings?
Migrate Mate surfaces Fitch Ratings's DOL Labor Condition Application filing history by role and location, so you can identify which job titles and offices have active E-3 sponsorship patterns before applying. Cross-reference those titles against Fitch's current job postings to target your application toward teams with established immigration workflows rather than applying broadly.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Fitch Ratings?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
