Align your credentials to FTI's practice areas
FTI's E-3 roles concentrate in economic consulting, forensic accounting, and corporate finance advisory. Match your degree field directly to the practice group you're targeting, specialty occupation approval depends on that alignment being explicit, not implied.
Verify your specialty occupation case before applying
Use O*NET to confirm your target role requires a specific bachelor's degree. FTI's consulting work spans billable client engagements, so your job title and duties must reflect a specialty occupation under E-3 criteria, not a generalist advisory function.
Request prevailing wage confirmation from FTI's HR team
Before the LCA is filed, ask FTI's immigration team which wage level they intend to certify. The DOL's OFLC Wage Search lets you independently verify the prevailing wage for your occupation code and work location so there are no surprises at the consulate.
Time your application around FTI project cycles
FTI hires heavily ahead of large restructuring mandates and fiscal year budgets. Targeting your application during active hiring windows, typically Q1 and Q3, increases your chances of getting a firm offer in hand before the LCA filing window opens.
Prepare for a practice-specific technical screen
FTI interviewers assess case-ready skills tied to their service lines, not just general consulting frameworks. Prepare for quantitative problem-solving and industry-specific scenarios relevant to your target practice, since offer decisions directly drive whether E-3 sponsorship moves forward.
Use Migrate Mate to manage the E-3 filing after your offer
Once FTI extends an offer, the E-3 paperwork moves quickly. Migrate Mate handles the filing process at a flat fee and assigns a dedicated E-3 visa expert, so you're not relying solely on FTI's internal immigration counsel to track your application status.
FTI E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does FTI sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, FTI sponsors E-3 visas for qualified Australian nationals in consulting and advisory roles. The firm works with immigration counsel to manage LCA filings and consular applications. Sponsorship is tied to a specific role offer, so you'll need a confirmed position before the process begins.
Which roles and departments at FTI typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at FTI tends to be concentrated in economic consulting, forensic and litigation support, corporate finance advisory, and data analytics. Roles that require a directly related bachelor's degree are the strongest candidates for specialty occupation approval under E-3 criteria.
How do I start the E-3 application process once FTI makes me an offer?
After FTI confirms your offer, the firm files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL. Once certified, you bring the LCA, offer letter, and supporting credentials to your consulate interview in Australia. USCIS is not involved for consular E-3 applications, which keeps the timeline shorter than many other work visas.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at FTI?
The LCA certification typically takes around one week after DOL submission. Consulate appointment availability in Australia then drives most of the total timeline. In Sydney and Melbourne, appointments are often bookable within a few weeks, making end-to-end processing faster than most U.S. employer-sponsored visa categories.
How do I find and apply for E-3 roles at FTI?
Search FTI's careers page directly for open positions in your target practice area, then confirm E-3 sponsorship availability during the recruiter screen. Migrate Mate also surfaces FTI's verified LCA filing history by role and location, which helps you identify which practice groups have actively sponsored E-3 applicants in the past.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at FTI?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
