Align your degree to Redis's technical roles
E-3 requires a degree that directly matches your job's specialty occupation definition. For Redis's engineering and infrastructure roles, a computer science, software engineering, or systems engineering degree maps cleanly. Verify your field against the O*NET occupation profile for your target role before applying.
Target teams building on core Redis products
Redis's engineering hiring clusters around its core in-memory database, search, and cloud managed-service teams. Framing your experience around distributed systems, caching architectures, or developer experience increases your relevance to the roles most likely to receive E-3 sponsorship approvals.
Confirm the LCA wage tier before your offer call
Redis must file a Labor Condition Application certifying your salary meets the prevailing wage for your role and location. Run the OFLC Wage Search for your job title and city before you negotiate so you can benchmark your offer against the DOL wage level.
Use Migrate Mate to prepare your E-3 filing documents
Once Redis extends an offer, your side of the E-3 packet includes your DS-160, a support letter, and LCA documentation. Migrate Mate's flat-fee filing service assembles and reviews these materials so your consulate appointment isn't delayed by paperwork errors.
Plan your consulate appointment around Redis's start date
The E-3 has no USCIS petition step, so your timeline runs from LCA certification to consulate appointment to entry. LCA certification typically takes around seven business days through DOL. Build that lead time into your negotiated start date with Redis's recruiting team.
Ask Redis's HR about its E-Verify enrollment upfront
E-Verify enrollment is mandatory for STEM OPT employers and common at larger tech companies. Confirming Redis is enrolled early matters if you're transitioning from OPT, since your F-1 STEM extension requires an E-Verify employer before USCIS approves the extension.
Redis E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Redis sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Redis sponsors E-3 visas. The company supports multiple work visa categories including E-3, reflecting an established immigration program. E-3 sponsorship at Redis is most common for software engineering and infrastructure roles where a qualifying specialty occupation degree is clearly tied to the job's technical requirements.
Which roles at Redis are most likely to receive E-3 sponsorship?
Redis's E-3 sponsorship activity concentrates in technical roles, particularly software engineering, site reliability engineering, and cloud infrastructure positions. These roles align with the E-3 specialty occupation requirement, which demands a direct connection between the position and a relevant bachelor's degree field such as computer science or systems engineering.
How do I apply for an E-3 visa through Redis?
After Redis extends a conditional offer, its legal or HR team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL. Once the LCA is certified, you complete the DS-160, pay the consular fee, and attend a visa interview at a U.S. consulate in Australia. USCIS is not involved in E-3 processing, so there's no petition step.
How long does the E-3 process take with Redis?
The DOL typically certifies the LCA within seven business days. After that, your timeline depends on consulate appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth. Total time from a signed offer to a visa stamp can run three to six weeks in normal conditions. Build this window into your start date negotiation with Redis's recruiting team.
How do I strengthen my E-3 application for a role at Redis?
Make sure your degree field maps directly to your job title. Redis roles in distributed systems or cloud infrastructure pair cleanly with computer science or engineering degrees. Migrate Mate can review your documents before your consulate appointment to catch any mismatches between your credentials and the LCA's specialty occupation description.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Redis?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
