Frame your degree against Siemens role requirements
Siemens E-3 petitions require a direct connection between your degree field and the specific role. Map your Australian qualification to the job's stated requirements before applying, a mismatch is the most common reason sponsorship stalls at offer stage.
Target divisions with established visa infrastructure
Siemens's consulting and professional services units handle sponsorship more routinely than smaller operational teams. Focus your search on digital industries, smart infrastructure, and project management roles, where E-3 filings are a familiar process for HR and legal.
Raise E-3 eligibility before the offer letter stage
Siemens recruiters familiar with H-1B may not immediately recognize E-3 as a separate, cap-exempt visa. Clarify your Australian citizenship and E-3 eligibility during the screening call so the hiring team routes your file correctly from the start.
Verify your role meets the prevailing wage standard
Before signing an offer, use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm your offered salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for your job title and location. Siemens must certify wage compliance on the Labor Condition Application before your visa application proceeds.
Check your occupation code using O*NET
Siemens engineering and consulting roles span multiple SOC codes, and the code Siemens assigns affects both the specialty occupation determination and your prevailing wage tier. Cross-reference your job duties against O*NET to confirm your role is classified accurately.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Siemens E-3 roles
Searching broadly misses roles where Siemens has active E-3 filing history. Migrate Mate filters open positions by employer sponsorship data, so you can focus on Siemens roles where E-3 sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Siemens E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Siemens sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Siemens sponsors E-3 visas for qualified Australian professionals in specialty occupation roles across its U.S. operations. Sponsorship is most common in engineering, technology, and consulting divisions where degree-level requirements are well-established. As with any large employer, individual hiring teams vary in their familiarity with the E-3 specifically versus other work visas.
Which Siemens roles and departments typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Siemens is most consistently available in roles tied to its core business areas: software engineering, systems integration, project management, and technical consulting. Positions within smart infrastructure and digital industries divisions tend to have the clearest specialty occupation documentation, which simplifies the Labor Condition Application process.
How do I navigate the E-3 application process at Siemens?
Once Siemens extends an offer, their immigration counsel files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and prepares your supporting documentation. You then schedule a consular interview at a U.S. embassy in Australia. The process moves faster than H-1B visa because there's no lottery and no cap, but you must have a certified LCA before your interview date.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at a large employer like Siemens?
From offer acceptance to visa stamp, a typical Siemens E-3 case takes four to eight weeks, depending on LCA processing time at DOL and consular appointment availability. DOL certifies most LCAs within seven business days. Consular wait times in Sydney and Melbourne vary by season, so book your appointment as soon as the LCA is certified.
How do I find E-3 roles at Siemens that are open to sponsorship?
Not every Siemens job posting explicitly mentions E-3 sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces Siemens roles filtered by employer sponsorship history, so you can identify positions where visa support is already part of the hiring process rather than negotiating it from scratch after applying through a general jobs board.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Siemens?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
