Align your credentials with U.S. CPA pathways
Weaver and Tidwell recruits for roles where a relevant bachelor's degree is a genuine requirement, not a preference. Before applying, verify your Australian accounting degree maps to a USCIS-recognized specialty occupation and confirm any CPA exam eligibility with your target state board.
Target audit and advisory practice groups directly
E-3 sponsorship at accounting firms typically flows through technical practice areas like assurance, tax advisory, and risk consulting, not generalist or administrative tracks. Research which Weaver and Tidwell service lines are actively hiring and tailor your application to those specific groups.
Search Weaver and Tidwell's LCA history on Migrate Mate
Before reaching out to recruiters, search Migrate Mate to review Weaver and Tidwell's Labor Condition Application filing history by role type. This shows which job titles have received E-3 sponsorship and helps you frame your candidacy around positions the firm has actively filed for.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation early
The E-3 requires evidence your role meets the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidelines. Gather degree transcripts, credential evaluations if your qualification is Australian, and a detailed job description from your prospective manager before the LCA filing stage begins.
Confirm the LCA reflects your correct prevailing wage
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your visa interview. Cross-check the wage level against the OFLC Wage Search for your exact SOC code and metropolitan area. Discrepancies between the LCA wage and your offer letter can delay or complicate your consular appointment.
Clarify the filing timeline during the offer stage
Ask Weaver and Tidwell's HR or immigration counsel which steps they manage in-house and where external counsel is involved. LCA certification typically takes around seven business days, but scheduling your consular appointment in Australia adds lead time you'll need to factor into your start date.
WEAVER E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Weaver and Tidwell LLP sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Weaver and Tidwell LLP sponsors E-3 visas for qualified Australian professionals. The firm has a track record of filing for roles in accounting, audit, and advisory functions. Sponsorship is typically available for positions that meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning the role genuinely requires a relevant bachelor's degree or higher.
Which roles at Weaver and Tidwell typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Weaver and Tidwell is concentrated in technically specialized roles across audit, tax, and advisory practice lines. Positions such as assurance associate, tax analyst, and risk consulting roles are most consistent with the specialty occupation requirement USCIS applies to E-3 petitions. Generalist or non-degree-dependent roles are less commonly sponsored.
How do I apply for an E-3 role at Weaver and Tidwell LLP?
Apply through Weaver and Tidwell's careers page, targeting open roles in your practice area. Once you receive an offer, the firm's HR team coordinates the Labor Condition Application filing with DOL. You then schedule your visa interview at a U.S. consulate in Australia. You can use Migrate Mate to review the firm's LCA filing history and understand which roles have received prior E-3 sponsorship.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at Weaver and Tidwell?
The DOL Labor Condition Application typically certifies within seven business days. After that, your timeline depends on U.S. consulate appointment availability in Australia, which can range from days to several weeks depending on the location and period. Building at least four to six weeks of lead time between your offer and intended start date is practical for most applicants.
What should I prepare before approaching Weaver and Tidwell about E-3 sponsorship?
Have your Australian degree transcript ready along with a credential evaluation if requested, since USCIS assesses whether your qualification meets the U.S. specialty occupation standard. Research the SOC code for your target role using O*NET and check prevailing wage levels via the OFLC Wage Search so you can evaluate whether your offer aligns with DOL requirements before signing.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Weaver and Tidwell L L P?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
