Align your degree to consulting specialty occupations
Consulting roles at Bma Solutions must qualify as specialty occupations requiring a specific bachelor's degree field. Map your Australian degree to the exact SOC code for your target role using O*NET before applying, so your credentials clearly support the E-3 petition.
Request the LCA before signing anything
Bma Solutions must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before your E-3 visa application can proceed. Ask your recruiter to confirm LCA timelines early in the offer stage, since DOL certification typically takes seven business days and can affect your start date.
Verify your salary meets the prevailing wage tier
Consulting firms often post offers at varying pay bands. Before accepting, cross-check your offered salary against the OFLC Wage Search for your specific job title and work location to confirm it meets or exceeds the prevailing wage DOL will use to certify your LCA.
Use Migrate Mate to prepare your E-3 filing package
Once Bma Solutions extends an offer and the LCA is certified, your E-3 consular application requires coordinated documents from both you and your employer. Migrate Mate organizes the full filing package, ensuring your DS-160, support letter, and LCA are correctly assembled before your consulate appointment.
Clarify whether your role is client-site or office-based
Consulting placements sometimes involve work at client locations rather than the employer's primary address. If your role includes client-site work, confirm with Bma Solutions that the LCA wage level and worksite address accurately reflect where you'll be performing services, since USCIS scrutinizes worksite compliance on E-3 petitions.
Prepare for specialty occupation questions at the consulate
Australian consular officers can probe whether your role genuinely requires a degree in a directly related field. Bring documentation from Bma Solutions describing the role's core duties, the degree requirement in the job posting, and how your Australian qualification matches the specialty occupation standard under USCIS criteria.
Wood PLC E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Bma Solutions sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Bma Solutions sponsors E-3 visas for eligible Australian professionals in consulting and professional services roles. The company has filed E-3 petitions and is familiar with the requirements, including Labor Condition Application certification with DOL and the specialty occupation standard. Australian candidates should confirm sponsorship availability for their specific role during the offer stage.
Which roles at Bma Solutions typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles in management consulting, business analysis, IT consulting, and advisory services are most likely to qualify, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Generalist or support roles without a specific degree requirement are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to E-3 petitions.
How do I apply for an E-3 visa through Bma Solutions?
After receiving a job offer, Bma Solutions files a Labor Condition Application with DOL on your behalf. Once certified, you complete the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and attend a consular interview at a U.S. embassy in Australia. You can use Migrate Mate to coordinate your application documents and ensure everything is filed correctly before your appointment.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at Bma Solutions?
The LCA certification with DOL typically takes around seven business days. From there, consulate appointment wait times in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth vary by season and demand. Most candidates complete the full process within four to eight weeks of receiving a job offer, though administrative processing at the consulate can extend this timeline.
What should I do if Bma Solutions hasn't sponsored E-3 visas before for my role?
If your specific position hasn't been sponsored under the E-3 previously, work with the HR or legal team to document how the role meets the specialty occupation standard. Provide your academic transcripts, credential evaluations for your Australian degree, and a detailed job description. Connecting your qualifications directly to USCIS specialty occupation criteria strengthens the petition considerably.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Bma Solutions?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
