Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility for Partnership Development roles hinges on demonstrating that the position requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher. Prepare documentation showing your degree directly ties to financial services, business development, or a related field, not a general business background.
Target East West Bank's cross-border client verticals
East West Bank's model centers on connecting U.S. and Asia-Pacific markets. Highlight experience in cross-border partnerships, international client portfolios, or multilingual relationship management, since these align directly with the bank's core business and strengthen your candidacy for sponsorship-eligible roles.
Research open roles through a sponsorship-focused job board
Tracking which Partnership Development Manager openings are actively visa-eligible saves significant time. Use Migrate Mate to filter East West Bank listings by sponsorship status so you're applying to positions where international candidates are genuinely being considered.
Clarify sponsorship timing before accepting an offer
For H-1B cap-subject filings, the April lottery window determines when you can start. If you're on OPT, confirm East West Bank can accommodate a start date aligned with your work authorization, and ask HR whether premium processing is available to shorten the USCIS adjudication timeline.
Get your TN eligibility assessed if you're Canadian or Mexican
TN status can be obtained at a port of entry without waiting for a USCIS petition, which is faster than H-1B processing. For Partnership Development Manager roles, the most defensible TN category is typically Management Consultant or Financial Analyst, depending on your specific responsibilities.
Prepare a visa history summary before your HR interview
Banking employers run background checks and compliance reviews that include immigration history. Compile a clean record of every prior visa status, any changes of status, and I-94 admission periods so East West Bank's legal or HR team can assess sponsorship risk without delays.

Does East West Bank sponsor H-1B visas for Partnership Development Managers?
Yes, East West Bank sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Partnership Development Manager positions. The role typically meets the specialty occupation standard because it requires a degree in finance, business, or a related field. Sponsorship is generally initiated after an offer is extended, and the bank works with immigration counsel to file petitions through the standard USCIS H-1B cap process, including the annual April lottery for cap-subject candidates.
How do I apply for Partnership Development Manager jobs at East West Bank?
You can apply directly through East West Bank's careers portal or find open roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to emphasize cross-border relationship management, financial services client development, and any bilingual capabilities, since East West Bank prioritizes candidates with experience bridging U.S. and Asia-Pacific markets. Follow up with the recruiter to confirm sponsorship availability for your specific visa type.
Which visa types does East West Bank commonly use for Partnership Development Manager roles?
East West Bank sponsors across several nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories for this function. H-1B is the most common path for full-time hires. F-1 OPT and CPT are used to bring in candidates earlier in their career, including post-degree periods. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. For longer-term talent, the bank also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship.
What qualifications and experience does East West Bank expect for Partnership Development Manager roles?
East West Bank typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or international business, though an MBA strengthens competitiveness. Practical experience in financial services business development, relationship management, or commercial banking is expected. Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is frequently valued given the bank's client base. Familiarity with cross-border transaction structures or trade finance adds meaningful differentiation in the hiring process.
How do I handle the timeline between an offer and my visa start date at East West Bank?
The timeline depends on your current status. H-1B cap-subject candidates must go through the April lottery, with an earliest start date of October 1. If you're on OPT with a valid EAD, you can often start before the H-1B petition is approved. For candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer, East West Bank can file an H-1B transfer, which allows you to start work once USCIS receives the petition, without waiting for final approval.
