Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Business Development Jobs at East West Bank Jobs
Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility for Business Development roles requires a degree in a specific field like finance, economics, or international business. A generalist background raises RFE risk, so document how your degree directly maps to the core duties of the role before applying.
Target East West Bank's cross-border client segments
East West Bank actively builds relationships with Asian-American businesses and U.S.-China trade clients. Demonstrating fluency in those markets, through prior client portfolios or relevant language skills, positions you as a stronger candidate for roles where sponsorship is most likely.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Business Development openings
East West Bank's Business Development roles are spread across regional markets and don't always cluster by title. Use Migrate Mate to filter current openings at East West Bank by visa type so you can identify which positions are actively seeking sponsored candidates.
Clarify OPT or CPT status early in recruiter conversations
If you're on F-1 OPT, East West Bank has sponsored this status for Business Development functions before. Raise your work authorization status in the first recruiter call so hiring teams can confirm internal approval and avoid late-stage complications near your OPT expiration date.
Understand how PERM affects Business Development timelines
If your goal is a Green Card via EB-2 or EB-3, PERM requires DOL to confirm no qualified U.S. workers were displaced. For Business Development roles, your employer must conduct a compliant recruitment process before filing, which can add six to twelve months before the I-140 stage.
Prepare a sponsor-readiness packet before your offer stage
Once an offer is extended, East West Bank's HR and legal teams move quickly on I-129 preparation. Have your degree certificates, transcripts, and prior visa documentation organized and ready to hand over so you don't create delays during the filing window.

Does East West Bank sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, East West Bank sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The position must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as finance, business, or economics. East West Bank has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for this function across multiple U.S. locations.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at East West Bank?
Applications go through East West Bank's careers portal, where Business Development roles are listed by region and business unit. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse current East West Bank Business Development openings filtered by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify roles where sponsorship is actively available before you invest time in the full application process.
Which visa types does East West Bank commonly use for Business Development roles?
East West Bank sponsors several visa categories for Business Development positions, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in eligible programs. For candidates seeking permanent residence, East West Bank has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM-based sponsorship.
What qualifications does East West Bank expect for Business Development roles?
Business Development candidates at East West Bank are typically expected to hold a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field. Relevant experience in commercial banking, relationship management, or cross-border business development is valued. Bilingual skills, particularly Mandarin or Cantonese, can be a meaningful differentiator given the bank's core client base in the Asian-American business community.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Business Development role at East West Bank?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, the annual cap registration opens in March for an October 1 start date, so you'll need an offer and a willing employer months in advance. F-1 OPT provides a bridge during that window. TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals can be obtained at the border with a job offer letter, making timelines significantly shorter than H-1B.
