Frame your credentials around commercial banking outcomes
East West Bank hires Business Development Managers to grow loan portfolios and deepen client relationships in business banking. Translate your resume into deal volume, client acquisition metrics, and industry verticals you've served rather than listing generic sales or relationship duties.
Target branches serving cross-border business corridors
East West Bank specializes in U.S.-Asia business banking. If you have Mandarin fluency, trade finance exposure, or experience serving immigrant-owned businesses, position those credentials prominently. They directly align with the bank's core market and sharpen your sponsorship case.
Understand how DOL prevailing wage shapes your offer
Before negotiating compensation, check the DOL Foreign Labor Certification Data Center for prevailing wages for Business Development Manager roles in the specific metro where East West Bank is hiring. Your offered salary must meet the applicable wage level, which affects both LCA certification and visa approval.

East West Bank posts roles across multiple markets, and sponsorship availability can vary by position and location. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Business Development Manager openings at East West Bank that align with your visa category before applying.
Prepare a specialty occupation narrative before your offer stage

Does East West Bank sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Yes, East West Bank sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Manager roles. The bank has an established immigration sponsorship process and works with outside counsel to support petitions for qualifying candidates. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, timing your application around the April filing window is critical. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, a transfer to East West Bank is possible without waiting for the lottery.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at East West Bank?
Applications go through East West Bank's careers portal, where Business Development Manager roles are listed by market and business line. Migrate Mate also aggregates these openings and lets you filter by visa sponsorship type, which is useful if you need to confirm a specific role supports your visa category before investing time in the application. Tailor your materials to the bank's U.S.-Asia commercial banking focus and highlight relevant client portfolios or industry verticals.
Which visa types does East West Bank use for Business Development Manager roles?
East West Bank sponsors multiple visa categories for this role, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in qualifying programs. For candidates seeking permanent residence, the bank supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which typically begin after you've established yourself in the role. The right visa category depends on your nationality, degree, and current immigration status.
What qualifications does East West Bank expect for Business Development Manager candidates seeking sponsorship?
East West Bank generally looks for a bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in commercial lending, deposit growth, or business banking relationship management. Bilingual candidates with Mandarin proficiency have a meaningful edge given the bank's focus on U.S.-Asia business corridors. For H-1B purposes, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, so a directly related degree is important. Experience serving small-to-mid-size businesses or cross-border trade clients strengthens both your candidacy and the sponsorship petition.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if I receive an offer from East West Bank?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B transfers from an existing employer can be effective within weeks using USCIS premium processing, which adjudicates in 15 business days. New H-1B petitions are subject to the annual lottery and a fixed October 1 start date, so the process from offer to work authorization can span six or more months. TN visas for Canadians can be approved at the border on the day of travel. Your immigration attorney and East West Bank's HR team will map out the specific sequence for your situation.
