Align your background to science verticals
Thermo Fisher's Partnership Development roles prioritize candidates with domain knowledge in biopharma, genomics, or lab sciences. Frame your credentials around specific research markets they serve, not just general business development experience.
Secure an LCA-ready offer letter
Before your H-1B petition moves to USCIS, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL. Confirm Thermo Fisher's HR team has initiated this step, since delays here push back your entire start date.
Use Migrate Mate to target open roles
Thermo Fisher posts Partnership Development Manager positions across multiple divisions simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles with active visa sponsorship so you're applying where sponsorship is already confirmed for this function.
Distinguish your visa type early in conversations
TN, H-1B, and F-1 OPT each carry different timelines and employer obligations. Flag your current status and work authorization window in early recruiter conversations so Thermo Fisher's immigration team can plan your filing without a last-minute scramble.
Build a portfolio of quantified partnership outcomes
Hiring managers in this function evaluate candidates on revenue impact and partner retention metrics. Bring documented examples of deal structures, co-selling agreements, or alliance frameworks relevant to scientific or life sciences organizations before your panel interview.

Find Partnership Development Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsor H-1B visas for Partnership Development Managers?
Yes. Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsors H-1B visas for Partnership Development Managers, particularly for candidates with a background in life sciences, biopharma, or scientific research markets. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given the technical domain knowledge required. Sponsorship is handled through Thermo Fisher's internal immigration team, so expect a structured process once you receive an offer.
Which visa types are commonly used for Partnership Development Manager roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific?
H-1B is the most common visa for this role, used for candidates already in the U.S. or transferring from another employer. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for recent graduates in early stages of their career. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business categories. For longer-term pathways, Thermo Fisher also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship.
How do I apply for Partnership Development Manager jobs at Thermo Fisher Scientific?
You can browse open Partnership Development Manager roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific directly through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship so you're only seeing roles where sponsorship is confirmed for your visa type. Once you identify a match, applications go through Thermo Fisher's careers portal. Tailoring your application to the specific scientific vertical the role covers, such as biopharma or diagnostics, significantly improves your chances of progressing past initial screening.
What qualifications and experience does Thermo Fisher Scientific expect for Partnership Development Managers?
Thermo Fisher generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in a life sciences, engineering, or related technical field, combined with several years of experience in strategic partnerships, alliances, or business development within scientific or research-adjacent industries. Strong familiarity with biopharma commercial models, co-selling frameworks, or academic research partnerships is valued. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree-to-role match is important for H-1B specialty occupation qualification.
How do I time my application if I need visa sponsorship at Thermo Fisher Scientific?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with the lottery registration window typically opening in March. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, start your job search at least four to five months before your authorization expires to allow time for Thermo Fisher's internal approval process, LCA filing with DOL, and USCIS processing. H-1B transfers for candidates already in status can happen year-round without waiting for the lottery.
