Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.
DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Marketing Manager, Therapeutic Excellence plays a critical role in advancing this mission by ensuring our scientific expertise is clearly articulated, strategically activated, and meaningfully differentiated in the market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support cross-business strategy to identify, prioritize, and elevate differentiated scientific and peer-reviewed content, with clear governance, success metrics, and a scalable approach to drive measurable business impact.
- Elevate Thermo Fisher’s scientific expertise through earned media and industry engagement, including bylined publications, expert commentary, and strategic speaking opportunities at key conferences.
- Launch and maintain a centralized, web-based distribution channel for scientifically rich content, ensuring accessibility, discoverability, compliance, and alignment business objectives.
- Enable processes that surface high-value scientific insights across divisions, partnering closely with business strategy leaders and subject matter experts to ensure alignment to strategic growth priorities.
- Shape cohesive, evidence-based narratives that articulate scientific differentiation and competitive advantage.
- Transform scientific publications and data into high-impact marketing assets (e.g., executive summaries, white papers, digital content, campaigns).
- Partner with marketing, digital, and commercial teams to promote elevated content across various channels.
- Measure content performance to optimize engagement and maximize commercial influence.
REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience in marketing with demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution.
- In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
- Preferred Fields of Study: Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
- Deep understanding of marketing fundamentals including segmentation, positioning, and integrated campaign development.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to derive insights from market data and metrics.
- Demonstrated success in digital marketing across multiple channels (web, social, email, search).
- Strong enterprise mindset and comfort in navigating ambiguity.
- Excellent project management abilities with track record of delivering results in matrix environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across functions and geographies.
- Experience in life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical or related scientific industries preferred.
- Proficiency with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools.
- Strong business acumen with customer-centric mindset.
- Ability to travel up to 25% as required.

Frame Your Portfolio Around Scientific Audiences
Thermo Fisher markets to researchers, lab managers, and procurement teams, not general consumers. Tailor your portfolio to show B2B or technical marketing experience. Campaigns targeting regulated industries or scientific verticals carry more weight than broad consumer work.
Target Roles With Degree-Specific Requirements
H-1B eligibility requires a specialty occupation tied to a specific degree field. Marketing roles at a life sciences company are more defensible when the job description requires a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, so filter for postings with explicit degree requirements.
Browse Thermo Fisher Marketing Openings on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa sponsorship type, so you can surface Thermo Fisher Marketing roles that match your specific work authorization, whether that's H-1B, TN, or OPT, without manually screening each posting.
Ask About LCA Timing During Offer Negotiations
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask your recruiter or HR contact when they plan to initiate the LCA so you can align your expected start date with realistic processing timelines.
Leverage TN Status If You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
TN visas for management consultants and certain marketing roles can be processed at the border or a U.S. consulate without USCIS filing. If you qualify, this path avoids the H-1B cap entirely and can dramatically shorten your time to start.

Find Marketing at Thermo Fisher Scientific JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsor H-1B visas for Marketing roles?
Yes, Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsors H-1B visas for Marketing positions. The company is an established H-1B sponsor with a consistent track record across corporate functions including marketing. Your role will need to qualify as a specialty occupation, which means the job description should require a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as marketing, communications, or business.
Which visa types are commonly used for Marketing roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific?
Thermo Fisher sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Marketing roles, and supports Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term employees. H-1B is the most common route for full-time hires. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying categories. OPT and CPT are viable entry points for recent graduates, with H-1B sponsorship typically following once you're in a permanent role.
What qualifications and experience does Thermo Fisher Scientific expect for Marketing roles?
Thermo Fisher's Marketing roles typically require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, life sciences, or a related field. For product marketing and commercial strategy positions, prior experience in B2B or technical marketing is a strong advantage, particularly if you've worked with scientific, medical device, or regulated industry audiences. Advanced degrees or experience in marketing analytics and campaign performance measurement are valued at the senior level.
How do I apply for Marketing jobs at Thermo Fisher Scientific?
Search for open Marketing roles directly on Thermo Fisher Scientific's careers portal or browse sponsorship-filtered listings on Migrate Mate, which lets you surface positions by visa type so you can focus on roles that match your work authorization. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight relevant scientific or technical marketing experience and make sure the degree field on your application aligns with the specialty occupation requirement for visa purposes.
How do I time my H-1B petition if I receive a Marketing offer from Thermo Fisher Scientific?
If you're not already on H-1B status, your employer must file during the annual H-1B cap lottery, which opens in March for an October 1 start date. Thermo Fisher initiates the Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS filing, so align your offer acceptance and onboarding timeline accordingly. If you're currently on OPT, your authorization may bridge the gap until your H-1B takes effect, but confirm your OPT expiration date with your Designated School Official before committing to a start date.
