Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Product Software Engineer Jobs at Figma Jobs
Align your portfolio with Figma's product surface
Figma evaluates Product Software Engineers on their ability to build user-facing features at scale. Showcase work on collaborative tools, real-time systems, or design-adjacent products. Generic backend experience carries less weight than work that intersects product and engineering directly.
Confirm your visa type before applying
Figma sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, and F-1 OPT, but each category has different timelines and constraints. Australian citizens on E-3 can start work within weeks of an offer. F-1 OPT candidates need to verify their OPT end date clears Figma's typical hiring cycle.
Target roles that match your degree field precisely
H-1B specialty occupation approval requires your degree to directly correspond to the role. For Product Software Engineer positions, a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field is the clearest path. A general business or unrelated technical degree creates petition risk.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Product Software Engineer roles at Figma
Figma's sponsored engineering roles don't always stay open long. Use Migrate Mate to filter active Product Software Engineer listings at Figma by visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than assuming it from the job description.
Prepare for PERM requirements if targeting a Green Card
If Figma sponsors EB-2 or EB-3 for your role, the PERM labor certification process requires the company to document that no qualified U.S. worker was available. Raise your green card timeline expectations with your recruiter before signing, since PERM processing alone can take twelve months or more.

Find Product Software Engineer at Figma JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Figma sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, Figma sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers and has an established pattern of doing so across its engineering organization. Sponsorship is handled through Figma's internal immigration program, which works with outside counsel to file petitions. Because H-1B cap-subject filings are lottery-dependent, candidates already in H-1B status or eligible for cap-exempt transfers are in a stronger position when timing is tight.
Which visa types does Figma commonly sponsor for Product Software Engineer roles?
Figma sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 for most international engineers, E-3 for Australian citizens, and supports F-1 OPT extensions including STEM OPT for eligible graduates. For longer-term pathways, Figma has also sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your immigration journey when you receive an offer.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at Figma?
Applications go through Figma's careers page, where Product Software Engineer roles are listed with specific team focuses such as editor infrastructure, collaboration, or platform. Tailoring your application to the product area matters more than a general software resume. You can browse current openings filtered by visa sponsorship availability on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Figma roles where international candidates are explicitly considered.
What qualifications does Figma expect for Product Software Engineer roles?
Figma's Product Software Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a directly related field. Beyond credentials, Figma prioritizes candidates with demonstrated experience building user-facing features in collaborative or real-time environments. Familiarity with TypeScript, React, or browser rendering systems is commonly seen in job descriptions for this function across Figma's engineering teams.
How do I plan my timeline if Figma sponsors my H-1B as a new graduate?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your start date at Figma must fall within your authorized work period. STEM OPT gives you up to 24 additional months beyond standard OPT, and Figma is enrolled in E-Verify as required for STEM OPT employers. For H-1B cap-subject petitions, USCIS opens the registration window in March for an October 1 start date, so plan your offer timing to align with that cycle.
