Align your credentials to fleet procurement
First Student's supply chain work centers on fleet parts, vendor contracts, and school district logistics. Certifications like APICS CSCP or CPIM signal fluency in the operational language hiring managers here expect to see.
Raise sponsorship early in the offer stage
Transportation companies often have HR generalists rather than dedicated immigration teams. Asking directly whether the role is eligible for Green Card sponsorship before the offer letter avoids late-stage surprises when the hiring process is already in motion.
Browse open Supply Chain roles on Migrate Mate
Filter for First Student's active Supply Chain openings on Migrate Mate to surface roles where sponsorship has historically been part of the hiring profile, saving you from applying blindly to positions unlikely to support an immigration pathway.
Position yourself for regional operations hubs
First Student operates from hundreds of regional depots across the U.S. Supply chain hires often support specific geographic clusters. Applying to roles tied to larger operational hubs increases your visibility to hiring managers with more complex procurement needs.

Does First Student sponsor H-1B visas for Supply Chains?
First Student's documented sponsorship activity for Supply Chain roles has been through employment-based Green Card categories rather than H-1B. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer, you could potentially transfer to First Student, but you should confirm directly with their HR team whether an H-1B transfer is available for the specific role you're targeting.
Which visa types does First Student use for Supply Chain roles?
First Student has sponsored Supply Chain professionals through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. Both require the employer to complete DOL's PERM labor certification process before filing with USCIS. EB-2 is typically used for roles requiring advanced degrees, while EB-3 covers positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
What qualifications does First Student expect for sponsored Supply Chain positions?
Expect a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field. Roles tied to fleet operations may also value experience with procurement systems, vendor management, or parts inventory in transportation or fleet-heavy industries. APICS certifications strengthen your application, particularly for mid-to-senior level positions where PERM minimum requirements are clearly defined.
How do I apply for Supply Chain jobs at First Student?
You can browse Supply Chain openings at First Student directly through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where visa sponsorship is part of the hiring profile. Once you identify a relevant position, apply through First Student's careers portal. In your cover materials, highlight logistics or procurement experience relevant to large-scale fleet or transportation operations to stand out to their hiring team.
How do I plan my timeline if First Student sponsors my Green Card?
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically begins with PERM labor certification at DOL, which can take six months to over a year before USCIS even receives the petition. Factor in your current visa status and authorized stay carefully. If you're on OPT or a work visa with a fixed end date, discuss the full expected timeline with First Student's HR team before accepting an offer.
