How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Francis Marion University Visa Sponsorship USA
Focus on faculty and academic staff roles
Francis Marion University's sponsorship activity is concentrated in academic and research positions. Target faculty openings, instructorships, and specialized staff roles where a specific advanced degree is required, these are the positions most likely to support H-1B or Green Card sponsorship.
Understand the academic hiring calendar
Universities recruit on a predictable cycle. Faculty searches typically open in the fall for positions starting the following academic year. Plan your application timeline accordingly and build in lead time for LCA filing and H-1B petition preparation before the October 1 cap year start.
Highlight your specialty occupation credentials clearly
Francis Marion University sponsors roles that qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules. Make sure your application explicitly connects your degree field to the specific job duties, a clear degree-to-role match strengthens the petition and reduces the risk of an RFE.
Ask about Green Card pathways early in the process
Francis Marion University has sponsored employment-based Green Cards alongside H-1B visas. During interviews, ask whether the university has PERM labor certification experience and whether the role is eligible for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, this signals long-term intent and sets expectations upfront.
Explore F-1 OPT and CPT as a starting point
If you're a current F-1 student, Francis Marion University recognizes OPT and CPT work authorization. Starting in a role under OPT gives both you and the university time to evaluate fit before pursuing full H-1B sponsorship, which the university has pursued for qualified candidates.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified open roles
Sponsorship history only matters if there are open positions. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find current openings at Francis Marion University without guessing which employers will actually support your visa.

Which visa types does Francis Marion University sponsor?
