Align your credentials to GFT's tech stack
GFT's engineering work spans embedded systems, power electronics, and industrial automation within technology-driven environments. Frame your resume around the specific domains GFT delivers in, not just general electrical engineering, to pass initial screening for sponsorship-eligible roles.
Target roles posted through GFT's career portal directly
GFT frequently posts Electrical Engineer openings tied to client projects, and those listings signal active hiring cycles rather than pipeline building. Applying directly through their careers page puts your application inside their internal tracking system from the start.
Confirm your degree meets specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires that H-1B roles qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your bachelor's degree or higher must be in a field directly related to the position. For electrical engineering roles, a degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a closely related discipline is the baseline USCIS expects.
Ask about LCA filing timing before signing an offer
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition can be submitted to USCIS. Clarify with GFT's HR team which fiscal year cap they're targeting and whether premium processing is part of their standard workflow for engineering hires.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Electrical Engineer roles at GFT
Searching manually across job boards misses roles tied to active sponsorship cycles. Migrate Mate filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers, so you can identify current GFT Electrical Engineer openings that align with your authorization needs without sifting through unsponsored listings.
Prepare project documentation that demonstrates systems-level impact
GFT's technology delivery model means interviewers prioritize candidates who've owned end-to-end engineering workstreams. Bring documented examples of projects involving schematics, system integration, or regulatory compliance, as these signal readiness for the client-facing complexity GFT's roles typically involve.

Find Electrical Engineer at GFT JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GFT sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers?
Yes, GFT sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Engineer roles. The H-1B is the primary work visa pathway for this function, and GFT has an established process for supporting sponsored hires through the petition cycle. If you're targeting a role here, confirm sponsorship eligibility early in the recruiter conversation, ideally before the offer stage.
How do I apply for Electrical Engineer jobs at GFT?
Applications go through GFT's official careers portal, where Electrical Engineer openings are posted as client projects and internal initiatives create demand. You can also find active, sponsorship-eligible listings through Migrate Mate, which filters for employers actively supporting visa candidates. Tailor your application to the specific technical scope listed rather than submitting a generic resume.
Which visa types are commonly used for Electrical Engineer roles at GFT?
The H-1B is the primary visa category for Electrical Engineer positions at GFT, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extension can work while an H-1B petition is pending. If you hold an L-1 visa through a GFT entity in another country, an intracompany transfer may also be an option depending on your role and tenure.
What qualifications does GFT expect for Electrical Engineer candidates?
GFT's Electrical Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline, which also satisfies USCIS specialty occupation requirements. Beyond the degree, GFT prioritizes hands-on experience with systems design, power electronics, or embedded hardware, particularly in contexts that map to their technology delivery work for enterprise clients across industries.
How do I manage the H-1B timeline when targeting a role at GFT?
The H-1B cap runs on a federal fiscal year cycle, with USCIS accepting petitions starting April 1 for an October 1 start date. GFT would need to submit your petition by late March at the latest, which means your offer and DOL Labor Condition Application filing need to be completed weeks before that window opens. If you're on OPT, confirm your expiration date against this timeline to avoid a work authorization gap.
