Target engineering and R&D roles first
Glaukos's sponsorship history centers on technical disciplines tied to its ophthalmic device development work. Engineers, scientists, and regulatory specialists are most likely to qualify for H-1B sponsorship, so prioritize roles in those functions when applying.
Understand the specialty occupation requirement
Medical device companies like Glaukos must show that sponsored roles require a specific bachelor's degree field. Before applying, confirm your degree aligns directly with the job description, not just broadly with the industry.
Ask about OPT early in the process
Glaukos has sponsored F-1 OPT workers, making it a viable option if you're a recent graduate on a work authorization clock. Raise your timeline with the recruiter early so both sides can plan around your OPT or STEM OPT expiration.
Research open roles through verified sponsorship data
Not every job posting at Glaukos will mention visa sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and target roles at Glaukos with confidence rather than guessing from job descriptions.
Prepare for a structured interview process
Medical device companies typically run multi-stage technical interviews. Glaukos evaluates candidates on deep domain knowledge, so come ready to discuss specific experience in ophthalmic technology, device engineering, clinical affairs, or your relevant specialty.
Factor in H-1B timing when negotiating start dates
If you need an H-1B, cap-subject petitions have an October 1 start date. Be upfront with Glaukos's hiring team about this constraint early so they can work with legal counsel and avoid timeline misalignments after an offer is extended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Glaukos sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Glaukos sponsors H-1B visas. The company has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions, primarily for technical and scientific roles tied to its ophthalmic medical device business. If you're targeting Glaukos, focus on roles in engineering, R&D, regulatory affairs, or clinical sciences, as these are the functions most aligned with the company's sponsorship history.
What visa types does Glaukos sponsor?
Glaukos sponsors H-1B visas as its primary work authorization pathway, and has also supported F-1 OPT and CPT workers, making it an option for students and recent graduates. TN visa sponsorship is also on record for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional roles. Green Card sponsorship has not been a regular pattern based on available data.
Which roles at Glaukos are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Glaukos tends to follow the company's core business in ophthalmic surgical technology. Roles in biomedical or mechanical engineering, clinical research, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, and data science are most likely to qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B standards. Sales, marketing, and general administrative positions are less commonly sponsored.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Glaukos?
Job postings don't always disclose sponsorship eligibility, which makes it hard to know whether a specific role at Glaukos will support your visa situation. Migrate Mate lets you browse roles at verified sponsors like Glaukos and filter by visa type, so you can focus your search on positions where sponsorship is a realistic outcome rather than an afterthought.
How do I time my application to Glaukos around the H-1B cap?
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date. To hit that window, you'd ideally secure an offer from Glaukos by late February or early March. If you're on OPT, you may be able to start sooner and bridge to H-1B status once it's approved, giving you more flexibility in your application timing.
